Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences

And FZ25 will reach 120 way quicker than r15.
136 is not at all dull.

If we simply consider top speed then rs200 would be the best, just has 24.2 bhp and 18.3nm torque and does a Vbox 141-144kmph faster than duke 250 also.

You missed the whole point altogether. Take a deep breath mate. Dull "compared" to a 150cc mill from the same manufacturer. And "dull" is a non-negative word here. And I'm not even arguing about the reaching first to a double digit, that's a given.

I stated the speed as I was curious to know more. Lets not start the top speed game here, its futile.

EDIT: I know aerodynamics play a huge role. So I think I answered my own question here.

      Sorry for the OT.

      Thanks.

        Got your point.

I am discussing things in a positive manner, so don't worry...

Aye good sir, it wasn't even directed towards you. See the quote.

You found Fz25 dull compared to r15 only because of the top speed.
            Strange comparison dude.

Just the "top speed" buddy, just the top speed. And I think now I already figured why.

I'm sensing you're missing the point on purpose, eh?

PS: I'm still to see the source of your claim of "huge" speedo error of R15's but I think we'll go way OT here.

              Regards.

Better than conventional 55W bulb but not as good as the ones in dominar.

Having owned a first gen FZ16 for 6 years, only to own a R15S later(as R3 was way out of my budget), I was pretty excited and sad at the time when Yamaha suddenly announced this bike, if only I could wait for some time. Though R15S is a different ballgame altogether.

I believe this bike is going to do wonders for Yamaha once again. And brilliant work with the gearing from Yamaha.

                          Regards.

That almost every bike with digital console has. But I'd like to see your source please.

                          Regards.
having r15 for 6 yrs and test ridden fz25 for a decent length, i can say r15 is still more premium option of the two, if that makes sense to you. gear shifts, vibrations from engine etc are best you can buy. also connection with bike is superior. everything you do from breaking to throttle input to steering input, result is instant and more gratifying on r15.

unless you are into touring, and have some problem with forward biased posture on r15, i would rate both bikes to be equally good.

with that said, engine wise its a wash. in favour of fz. i will most likely get fz in some time.

Yep. That's a Deltabox thing. As I said before, R15's a different ballgame altogether.

I have high hopes from FZ25 and how also I wish the part in bold, but I guess I'll wait for two years or more. My R15 stint started just recently.

                            Regards.

Took a short test ride toady and this is what I have observed.

                              1. Handling is quite comfortable, so is the rider comfort. Wife wasn't happy on pillion though - way too tall without back support and she was worried that she might fall off. I fail to understand new design of seats on most of these bikes - never heard any pillion rider liking it - way too high in the air with higher CG, no wonder pillion doesn't feel safe!
                              2. Bike feels light, absolutely light and comfortable - almost like my current Unicorn.
                              3. Gears are NOT smooth - shifting is little tricky.
                              4. Not as fast as some video compared for 0-60 or 0-100, but it is quite competent.
                              5. I drove in twilight, and the headlight beam was barely visible on road in that light and spread wasn't impressive either. Though I could see lights from other vehicles comparatively brighter in the same light. Headlight is not as good as one would expect. Becomes a major concern if you're considering touring on this bike.
                              6. The bike does not really feel premium if you compare it with Dominar or even RTR 200 - even FZ-S saree guard on the rear wheel is better than FZ-25. Console is impressive, but poorly designed and illuminated. Dominar/RTR 200 make it look much better.

I fail to understand why Yamaha has decided to put this at the bottom of 250 cc bikes and did not add better frame, ABS, slipper clutch and that 6th gear. They have priced it low and bike seems to be a good package for its price. Given Yamaha's reputation & reliability, it could attract some people looking for options beyond 150 cc bikes.

For me it is likeable, but lacks that WOW factor. I believe Yamaha has missed an opportunity to create a truly desirable, premium bike with better specifications (better frame, ABS, slipper clutch and that 6th gear - few more bells and whistles like side-stand warning, service reminder etc.) that could have been launched around 1.5 L to 1.6 L ex-showroom. That would have caused some serious competition for CBR 250.

As of now, it only seems to compete with RTR 200 or NS 200. I have already seem people preferring Dominar instead of this one here on xBHP itself in the last 1 week.

I feel yamaha is more interested in lower segment i.e. segment below 1.25 lacs and I guess pricing is the key here. With the above mention features It would have crossed 1.5 lacs easily which would have hurt its sales...
