Owners... Are you able to open the front seat with the available toolkit?

Don't know how you guys will take this but the major drawback i found on FZ25 is the dynamics as someone mentioned already.

Yamaha was lazy i would say.

FZ15 when launched was became the benchmark for riding dynamics in that segment and for around 6 years FZ was the king.
When Gixxer came with same fz underpinnings (similar) still bettered fz and lots of enthusiasts even started comparing Gixxer's dynamics with sport bikes like r15.

When making Gixxer , Suzuki benchmarked FZ16 on riding dynamics, and they succeeded there.
Now yamaha could have done the opposite for FZ25.

Imagine guys, FZ25 with riding dynamics and feedback like Gixxer would have made FZ25 a choice for the enthusiasts as well.
I hope you guys understood what i meant.

      Cheers.

I fail to understand new design of seats on most of these bikes - never heard any pillion rider liking it - way too high in the air with higher CG, no wonder pillion doesn't feel safe!
          2. Bike feels light, absolutely light and comfortable - almost like my current Unicorn.
          3. Gears are NOT smooth - shifting is little tricky.
          4. Not as fast as some video compared for 0-60 or 0-100, but it is quite competent.
          5. I drove in twilight, and the headlight beam was barely visible on road in that light and spread wasn't impressive either. Though I could see lights from other vehicles comparatively brighter in the same light. Headlight is not as good as one would expect. Becomes a major concern if you're considering touring on this bike.
          6. The bike does not really feel premium if you compare it with Dominar or even RTR 200 - even FZ-S saree guard on the rear wheel is better than FZ-25. Console is impressive, but poorly designed and illuminated. Dominar/RTR 200 make it look much better.

I fail to understand why Yamaha has decided to put this at the bottom of 250 cc bikes and did not add better frame, ABS, slipper clutch and that 6th gear. They have priced it low and bike seems to be a good package for its price. Given Yamaha's reputation & reliability, it could attract some people looking for options beyond 150 cc bikes.

For me it is likeable, but lacks that WOW factor. I believe Yamaha has missed an opportunity to create a truly desirable, premium bike with better specifications (better frame, ABS, slipper clutch and that 6th gear - few more bells and whistles like side-stand warning, service reminder etc.) that could have been launched around 1.5 L to 1.6 L ex-showroom. That would have caused some serious competition for CBR 250.

As of now, it only seems to compete with RTR 200 or NS 200. I have already seem people preferring Dominar instead of this one here on xBHP itself in the last 1 week.
          My thoughts exactly!

yamaha absolutely wowed me. power and torque is amazing. i was instantly hooked to the bike. i have been riding r15 so perhaps its a family thing. loved it and was instantly comfortable in pushing it a bit around corners

dynamics are quiet good actually. no way lazy. lazy would be pulsar 200ns in bumper to bumper traffic cause heavy feel at handlebars. this one had instant response.

gixxer is more of a sport /street hybrid. its trying to be a substitue to fz and r15 both at same time cause its front end feel. while on paper it looks good, its not as effective a sport bike as r15 nor does it handle in true street fighter fashion like fz. great bike but not necessarily better than either.

fz25 handles like a proper street fighter. it has little front end feel. all feedback you get is from rear wheel via seat. (thats why duke series has hard seats. to get you feel of traction from seat.)

overall am very happy with how fz turned out. low price is always appreciated. it handles great, has ample power. perhaps will be reliable as well. couldn't have asked for more.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences

Hello guys, I am planning to get FZ25 after exchanging my R15s, Because of poor torque in city as well as hill rides. Off late i have developed pain in my neck because of riding in city with poor torque and riding position. I was having FZ16 till 2015 and it was very torquey machine and was fantastic in hills and city. I took test ride of fz25, it felt amply powered and had a revvy engine just like r15. But with superior torque. I intentionally took a pillion and then took a test ride to check the power. The torque delivery was equal to dominar, which I also tested. But I forgot to check the service interval. Is it every 5000 km, Which also include oil change?

People were crying about the power on how underpowered it is, but After power drift put out that video of 0-60,0-100 and top speed around 142, I think people took notice, and took it seriously, hopefully the engine justifies the price tag in Yamaha's view

Make a new thread in what bike section:
                        Fz25 vs duke 200 vs apache 200 vs p200 vs mojo vs cbr250 vs duke 250 😜
                        sigpic
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith and use up a lot of fuel....

that wont attract even 5% of ppl interested in discussing nitty gritty of the bikes.

i think one thread per bike should exist where ppl can discuss about that bike. and all ppl interested in that bike can consult for consensus of how bike performs. will centralise lot of information.
making countless small threads is not very efficient.

since ownership thread is supposed to include only maintenance related aspects of the bike.

                          just a suggestion.

                            General Biking Discussion Section!

You can start a thread in GBD about the best quarter litre in country currently or such like.

That is called the 'Ownership Thread' for that particular bike! Not for discussion of other bikes.

Well, the R15 is as torquey as a 150cc motorcycle could be. And in my experience, far better than the Fz16 in the hills. Sure, the Fz16 is a better city bike (more comfortable) and the Fz25 seems the logical step up.

Wait for some time. Let the initial short-mid term reports come. We both belong in the R15S thread, don't leave us alone man!

I'm planning to get the clip-ons setup a little higher, like the R3's stance. May be you can also think of the same and we'll finally have some ideas on making the R15S a better touring machine.

                                Regards.
