Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello fellow riders,
I am planning to own FZ25 towards the mid of April. I am convinced with almost everything that FZ25 offers post test ride. Only concern that remains in my head is the LED Headlight performance, in terms of intensity and light spread. I could not take a test ride during night time.
Can any of the owners here post some pictures that was taken during night time, that shows the light spread and intensity? I've heard the light is descent, when there are no other vehicles on the road, but when the road is lit with others' headlights, FZ25 headlamp is a poor performer.
Can someone spread some light to my concern?
Ride Safe,
Ashwin

Yes your are correct upper beam is not adequate. And spread is very narrow.
Lower beam is ok ok.
I think for Upper beam adjustment is required. Which I will ask them to do in first servicing. Let's see after that.

Thanks Ankit.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostThough cc is 250 but max power output is 20.9 bhp only so heat is manageable by air/oil cooling like p220. Heat dissipation also depends on quality of metallurgy used in engine components.

Thanks Vishal that's encouraging! Still i am a bit skeptical about engine heat not now but after 4-5 years.Originally posted by Vishal Rohra View PostEven I have upgraded from unicorn Dazzler, ergonomics wise it is pretty easy to adjust the fz, service is every 5000 kms, have been riding in hot sun and peak traffic since 2 weeks nothing to complain about heating , still to go for first service so can't comment on service costs but I think it will be cheaper than any 250 available in the Indian market today

Thanks n4speed, that helps a lot.. almost there to book one.Originally posted by n4speed View Post1. How are yamaha bikes in general as compared to honda in terms of reliablity & refinement? My current unicorn has been absolutely no nonsense and almost fuzzfree. (2010 till date)
The Japanese bikes like Honda and Yamaha are similar in terms of refinement and Reliability. You can expect these bikes to be fuzzfree because each part of the bike has been thought upon and not just placed, Yamaha have made sure, there are no loopholes like engine heat, small things like wires hanging and rear mudguard are taken care of.
2. What are service intervals and aprox cost for FZ25?
First service at 1k and 2nd service at 5k and 3rd service at 10k and there on.
My first service cost me 1200rs excluding labour charges which is really cheap.
3. How fairly air cooled 250 single cylinder engine survive in the upcoming summers which are getting intense year by year. I understand yamaha engineers must have given a thought to this but not sure how much they have tested this engine for bumper to bumper in Indian summers.
I have been riding for a while now in Mumbai summers in peak traffic, no sign of heating around legs or bike getting stalled or anything. Hence many claim this a relaxed engine which can perform under harsh condition I assume.

I have ridden it for 80 odd Kms so far I love almost everything thing about it. As of now, I do not like the gearbox. It seems that it has a mind of its own. It is very hard and very difficult to find neutral. The mirrors could also be better as the field of view is not that good compared to my gladiator. Posting a few pics.

Hi Manish,
Congratulations on your ride!
I will soon be booking FZ25. I would like to know your experience during night rides as I heard the performance of the LED head light is not something extra-ordinary.
I ride mostly in the city, where oncoming drivers don't even think about dimming their headlights. I later thought of installing Auxilary LED Spot/Fog lights, but as it voids the Electrical warranty, I cant do that too.
Will you be able to give your inputs, so that I can narrow down my decision?
Ride Safe,
Ashwin

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Don't worry about quality and service at all. I don't know about other places but here in delhi yamaha's service is good. Even quality wise yamaha's fz and r15 are benchmarks in their respective segments. As per yamaha's track record one can easily trust yamaha's quality.Originally posted by abhi.dpnd View PostThanks Ankit.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Basically the white color is easily available, rest cyan and black are in demand and they have waiting, also for the leg guards ..The design is new and the accessory suppliers are taking some time to deliver it .Keep ur friends close.....but keep ur enemies closer.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Done with first service.
Cost is Rs990 at Torcente motors Bangalore. The guys are generous with fair amount of experience, no rush at service centre.
-Oil and oil filter change and other consumables.
-Adjusted tappets
-900 km on ODO
-Got diagnostic test report of the bike along with bill.
-Hi-Beam need to be raised. Service guys forgot, so did I. Please let me know how to adjust beam if anyone has done it.
Regards
