The reason i have the FZ is the refined engine, torque, smooth engine, pillion seat and small tweaks it has such as LED lights, LCD panel etc. I guess i had my fair time with the Duke's hooliganism which i enjoyed and now i definitely to need move on. FZ has that charm which Karizma had at a point in time with relaxed engine and smooth power delivery. I feel this one perfect with the 250cc that too coming from Yamaha.Leh,Ladakh & Lahaul Ride to Heaven & Back - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/1...aven-back.html

Same thinking being current karizma owner. I can understand, being a tourer why you shifted to fz25 from d390.Originally posted by n4speed View PostCopy pasting the same reply when someone asked the same question on this thread.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I had done 40k KMs and 3.5years on the Duke. I was done with all the fun on the Duke. I wanted a change which would help me commute and tour. With FZ25, with better fuel tank, Better pillion seat, LED headlamps, Yamaha's quality and Reliability, relaxed engine with decent touring speed of 100. And also the affordable pricing.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostSame thinking being current karizma owner. I can understand, being a tourer why you shifted to fz25 from d390.
Duke was more about the power, aggressive seating position, to go crazy on the curves and hooliganism which comes free with the bike.
Depends what your purpose of the owning that Bike, since I already owned the Duke, I didn't think of 2017 Duke 390. But for you who owns a Karizma, the New Duke would be awesome if the budget allows. Because it has so many features but these features will set you apart from the Karizma. You will go crazy coming from Karizma to Duke. You won't be much amazed with FZ25 even though it has it own merits.

my conservative mind not allowing me to go for duke. i love the 390 but not sure if am ready for its nature all the time. also issues that keep popping up. i intend to solo tour and want bike as reliable as possible. perhaps next upgrade will be it.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yes I do. But since the FZ doesnt go crazy, you really don't need ABS. Also I was used to traditional brakes where wheel locks is fun. Also after riding KMs on the FZ, the nissin brakes are optimized ( they don't lock unnecessarily) and are reliable when you need them. If yo are riding in a same manner, ABS won't be missed.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostDon't you miss the safety net of dual channel abs offered by 390?Leh,Ladakh & Lahaul Ride to Heaven & Back - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/1...aven-back.html

Although I'd say that ABS can be the difference between staying up and road rash, irrespective of how sedately one rides, considering the 'obstacle race' we bikers run every single day on the roads. This especially comes into play when the rain sets in.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
rear nissin on r15 is not good. only thing it does is high pad cost. how is it on fz?
lot of Japanese bikes produce good result with simple unbranded components. like ninja650 costs 6 lacs and gets no usd forks. but bike is not compromised cause of that.
