Fz25 engine feels harsh as compared to my previous r15.
What do you suggest as in this change in valve clearance does make Significant change ?... Is it really worth ?

The bike's engine sound/exhaust note seems to have changed. It sounds very different while accelerating and I can feel it "grunting". However, the performance felt good. If I get time, I'll experiment with other values, most probably during the Christmas holidays.

We really can't compare the refinement of the 2. FZ25 does feel vibey and unrefined when compared to the R15.

I used to ride a Gixxer and still ride a CD100SS, both of these feel like electric bikes when compared to the FZ.

          1) Check tyre pressure
          2) Get your chain slack checked.
          3) Get your throttle body cleaned.
          4) Get fuel injector cleaned and fuel filter

If all of the above does not help.
Complain it to yamaha and get engine checked under warranty.

          Indian oil unleaded :117 kmph
          Shell unleaded : 114 kmph

The max engine speed it does is 7500RPM. It doesn't even touch 8k RMP where this bikes max power comes in!

Did anyone had such experience and later resolved it? And How?

What is the max speed of your bike guys? Pls let me know..

While the FZ does feel harsher in comparison, you can minimise it by doing the following-
            1. Clean engine oil (even Yamalube is fine).
            2. Cleaned and lubed chain+sprockets.
            3. Proper tyre pressure - either 25/29 or 27/31. Get an accurate gauge to check, the ones at the pumps aren't very accurate.
            4. Check your air filter once in every 5000kms if you ride mostly in city traffic.
            5. Valve clearances - either 0.07/0.10 or 0.06/0.08.
            6. Clean and lubricate the throttle assembly.
            7. Maintain more than 1-2 bars of fuel. Try to fill it up at COCO pumps.

Those with FZ25 non ABS model - has anyone considered upgrading to steel braided brake lines? I think it'll cost approximately 5k for that. Is it worth?

Several owners have done it. I used P220's lines for both the front and rear, costed me a total of ~3000 (inclusive of labour). There is absolutely no need for them at the rear though, so it should ideally cost only around 1500.

They're a direct fit, although it's a tight fit for the front and the stock clamps cannot be used. The one from the RS200 is also a direct fit and has more or less the same length as stock. There is also a slight sound from the front brake when it's applied.

There is a noticeable difference, the stock setup is progressive while the steel braided lines make them a bit sharper. Depends on your preferences.

Where do we get steel braided brake lines especially for FZ25. Is the P220 one available from Bajaj service or brought from outside.
I think this is the best upgrade we can do on our non ABS FZ25's.

The RS200 one is better suited for the FZ25. It will be available at any Bajaj SVC, and as far as I remember, costs 1300.

Here's a post for the RS200 lines, you can see that it fits much better and is routed just like the stock setup (the P220/Duke ones cannot be routed like this and need some adjustments at the master cylinder to be fitted)-

There are generic ones by Spiegler available too, check out Ralph Serrao's video on YouTube.

I've heard that Yamaha has a mudguard extension accessory for the FZ25. Has anyone fitted it?

I saw one such mudguard in Yamaha Service. It has 3 screws to be fitted. I think it's for Fz 16, though.

Came across this technique to undo the front sprocket nut. Wish I had seen earlier.

                            Hi team,

Observed rattling noise from chain sprocket. Even adjusted to 15-20mm slack still noise persist. Kindly provide suggestions for any rectification or whole kit to be replaced.

                            Distance covered - 13800 kms

What is the average life span of sprocket set?

                            TIA

Recommend slack for this bike is 40-45mm.
Your slack is too tight. It will strain your chain and sprockets too much.

My bike's idle is set at about 1250 RPM.
Yesterday, I rode my bike for about 280kms. Weather conditions was very cold and rainy. Starting place had an altitude of 80m and final destination has an altitude of 1300m.
After the ride, my bike's idle rode to 1750 RPM.
                                Any probable cause ?
