Hi. Sometimes if the chain is very loose also can happen. But this particular way I don't think have experienced - between neutral and first gear.Originally posted by prakash_mvpa View PostOf late, I observed a false neutral between neutral and first gear, when downshifting.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Chain has proper slack. I got it fixed by adjusting clutch. Now I don't find the false neutral. As some of you know, I got this 2018 October fz25 when it has only ran 8500kms or so. Even I did the 3rd free service. However, the previous owner rode the bike with fork oil leak and that resulted in front tyre wearing off in the right side. Rear tyre also finished. (The bike was used in the Idukki, very hilly area.)Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostHi in this bike chain is kept at 40mm play. Loose compared to other bikes.
Along with it, both front and rear brake pads needs immediate replacement. I fixed the fork issue, which was minor. But the expenses of new tyres and brake pads.. [emoji1781][emoji17]. Brake pads changing will alone cost ₹1500. Tyres, I cannot take corners due to no threads in rear and front tyre wobbling. Feel safe taking corners only at max 55kmph . So, even if riding at 80kmph, every corners in Kerala's winding and narrow roads reduces total speed.
Suggest the front and back tyre pls.Last edited by prakash_mvpa; 11-29-2019, 08:07 PM.

Had made a compilation for the tyres-Originally posted by prakash_mvpa View PostSuggest the front and back tyre pls.
The rear brake pad has a cheaper option called Nikavi, not sure about the effectiveness.
The front can be replaced either by P200NS/P200/FZ16 pads.Last edited by Shashank K R; 11-29-2019, 08:27 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
^ Brake pads I have given some options for front a few pages back. Some 140rs or so. Yamaha original spares. Working well for me. The rear some lower cost option is there on Amazon but I haven't used myself. Tires lower cost and good value and performance is MRF Masseter. Front 100/90 size 2350rs. Rear some 3000rs odd. Lot of other good suggestions are there in the previous pages. Although more expensive

^ Same here. Without it I would have had to rely on the SC or trial and error with a mechanic. I stopped giving SC and things all smoothed out in my bike. The service manual is a wealth of information. Thanks again slopegatri

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I checked the valves again last weekend, tightened them a bit to get 0.06/0.08. 0.07 and 0.09 don't go in now.
The bike's engine sound/exhaust note seems to have changed. It sounds very different while accelerating and I can feel it "grunting". However, the performance felt good. If I get time, I'll experiment with other values, most probably during the Christmas holidays.

Changed the front and rear brake pads at Yamaha service centre. It costed Rs1600. I went with original brake pads.

But, what is really irritating me is the coin rattling sound. It comes when you raise the rpm to 4000 or aboveand in 1-4 gears. I searched for a solution and it is confusing. Some says, it may be faulty timing chain tensioner (But most fz25 bikes have this coin noise. Some identifies some not). Others are claiming it to be from Crank balancer. The service centre has no clue about how to fix, since they are a sub dealer's service centre. I'm taking the bike to another service centre. Hopefully, they can resolve it.

It's from the balancer gear. It is normal and cannot be removed entirely. It starts coming at around 5k.Originally posted by prakash_mvpa View PostBut, what is really irritating me is the coin rattling sound. @Shashank K R : But, earlier until 10000kms, coin rattling noise was almost not present. Coin rattling noise has increased much after the recall job to fix plate bolts . What can be done to reduce this noise. I feel the handle vibration is also too much. Today 40kms ride through city traffic from Cochin to my place was numbing my hands. Meanwhile, I got a reply in Facebook group (hope he is here). Talking about crank, timing chain tensioner etc is frightening.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi Guys, My bike only attains a top speed of only 117kmph max. Tried with different fuels also.
Indian oil unleaded :117 kmph
Shell unleaded : 114 kmph
The max engine speed it does is 7500RPM. It doesn't even touch 8k RMP where this bikes max power comes in!
Did anyone had such experience and later resolved it? And How?
What is the max speed of your bike guys? Pls let me know..
