Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
That's great news. My bike still remains on v39 which came with the bike. THE SVC guys here doesn't even know that there are software updates for 390. I have wrote to KTM regarding this and also about the hardware update. Lets wait and seeOriginally posted by jdev16 View PostHi All,
So there is an update.
I went for the 3rd servicing on my bike (MY2017). It seems KTM is making some modifications free of cost.
1. A new ECU cover is being added to the bikes. Its made from fiber and as per ASC it will prevent rain from entering the ECU and also reduce the vibration. Earlier one was a .The cover is added beneath the tank and front cowl. In the same kit, there are some rubber stumps which are a replacement for the ones beneath the rear seat. Apparently as per ASC, the current ones get teared down in some time.
2. There is another kit for Headlamp. It is supposed to prevent the vibrations coming from the head light area.
Both the kits are being added/replaced free of cost. It is replaced as a part of some pre monsoon checkup. So please followup with your ASC. I am not sure if the MY2018 bikes are already coming with these updates or not.
Only thing that puzzles me is why KTM is not making it an official update.
The software version AV42 is now available. I am not aware what new in that as when it was being updated on my bike, it started giving HLU failure. So i asked them
to not update it for the time being.
Apart from this the bike still makes rubbing noise from the front disc brake. I have complained about it from some time but no solution has been given by the KTM guys. Only response i receive is that the work has been going on that and it is a known issue. Hope for the best. Apart from this the bike works like a charm and
since the update, i have not found any vibrations in the head light area.
Regards,
J

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello xBhpians.
I got my Duke 390 in March.
So far I have added a few things. Mainly Zana Top box Rack and Saddle Stays for my upcoming Ladhak Trip.
I will keep the Top box rack on the bike all the time, cause it gives the bike a unique Character. Saddle Stays will be on and off between trips.
I even Painted the rims to the engine color.
Let the photos do the talking
Also I want to know regarding dual purpose rear tyres that are best suited for Ladhak terrains.

I want to paint mine matte black.
It was painted with the tyre on the wheel, but the paint was nicely done on a few layers of primer, since the paint seem to be stuck for good, unlike the original paint which with only a drop of colin was getting on my cloth.

Made a little article and video on my Duke 390 preparation for ladakh trip. I hope this will help to new comers and i will be doing one more post ride to review all these mods and how useful or useless it was.
By this comparison it will help others. As far as i looked people have made things before trip but post ride reviews are almost close to none.

Let me know what you think about this and what improvement i can do in the next one.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi All,
I want to install fog lights for my Duke but confused that it may void the warranty. Any one tried installing fog lights and connecting with one of the Auxiliary port in the bike?
I heard that instead of cutting the wires or connecting straight to battery if we connected with either of the Auxiliary port then we can intact the warranty, does it true?
Thanks in advance

There are two ways to connect the Aux Light, one Directly to the Battery and Better option is connecting to Ignition System, the latter one will void the warranty since some modifications to the wiring system is required, if connected directly to Battery it wont void warranty just make sure to remove the Aux lights before giving to Service Centre.Originally posted by Imran7 View PostHi All,

You can connect it to the accessories port under the rear seat..might have to juggle a bit to find it..i have connected it to the same.Originally posted by Imran7 View PostThanks for your suggestion.

I planned to use the one present beneath the fuel tank which is same as the one present beneath the rear seat though. Regarding the warranty will the connection void the warranty?Originally posted by kau8552 View PostYou can connect it to the accessories port under the rear seat..might have to juggle a bit to find it..i have connected it to the same.

Well..the one below fuel tank stays on always regardless of the ignition.. The one under the seat works with ignition. Warranty shouldn't be affected by this.. Haven't had anyone say anything about it as of yet.Originally posted by Imran7 View PostI planned to use the one present beneath the fuel tank which is same as the one present beneath the rear seat though.
