Why is the 390 priced at 2.91 onroad!? I paid 2.83 at Indiranagar. Why the extra 8k?

It's because of 3 years insurance and you get one year insurance free......... Good deal if you can afford it.........But I'm also confused if it's worth it or it's just a showroom gimmick...... Anybody throw light on it

I had spent some time at 4k RPM in each gear yesterday, stopping for a break every now and then. Went for a short ride on the Bangalore - Kolar route today, and the vibes at that RPM have reduced drastically. Royalapache Our problem seems to sort itself out.

Bike feels much calmer and relaxed than the older twins.

Before that rpm, it's perfect, after that rpm it's perfect. I've only managed to do about 250kms till date. Maybe someone one who has ridden this bike a lot more will be able to shed some light on this.

For all these quotes about vibes! Trust me, bike becomes hell lot of smooth as the time goes. I hit 135kmph and the bike becomes way smoother as it reaches high speed. I completed 1000kms yesterday and I'm taking the bike to the service center now and really excited to try the bike after this service!!! Top speed incoming

I got mine done at Kasturba road, they did a decent job, they forgot to set the rev limiter to 10500 though, so make sure you check that if you get it serviced there.

Went on a ride to Nandi Hills yesterday. The handling was superb, not only do you get to hold a line, the bike allows you to steer mid - corner at ease. The power delivery was optimal, bike revs freely and you can use all the power this bike can offer. The MRF's aren't bad either. I suppose it'll only get better when the rev limiter is removed

It's a beauty when the rev limiter is removed, however the bike wobbles when you cross 130 I guess that's down to the cross winds.

Wobbling?
The wheelbase is 10mm shorter than duke200 thats a significant amount of difference.
And the new Duke250and390 are said to be even sharper than before so might have a sharper rake so theoretically less stable on higher speed.

What top speed have you touched ?

I touched 140, it didn't want to push it more than that, I wasn't wearing proper gear either.

Hello folks.. Back to the forum after a long time... Got the 250 for my wifey and quite a bike it is...

Quick initial impressions :

- The new design is a looker! I never really liked the older design. This new 250 is sharper and more evil. Too many eyes fall on it on the road. White looks better than the Orange as its a new shade if orange KTM has introduced.
- Bike is smooth, not kawa or Honda smooth, but for a KTM, its smooth.
- Its silent and no more auto audio, but the radiator fan is loud.
- Rode for about 10kms in traffic at 1pm, no heat directed towards the leg, even when fan is on.
- There is no urgency in the way the power is delivered, very linear for most part of the power band.
- There's a slight lag at around 4k rpm, post which all the power kicks in.
- 1st gear seems talls and will let you putter in traffic.
- Plenty of torque to assist in overtakes even with pillion.
- Suspension seems softer than older model, handles uneven road and ditches well.
- No irritating vibrations felt anywhere, although zome plastics are buzzing.
- The display has a nice feature where a F trip starts once fuel reaches the lowest level.
- Brakes lack bite.. May be they need to be run in, front is alright, rear is a big zero currently.
- YES, tank holtds 13 ltrs.. filled 12 ltrs in front of me :-P

more to come soon...

Pics for now
