Don't doubt the handling of NS. It is more stable than you think. You can take corners with lot of confidence, it wont let you down. You must be in 1st or 2nd gear at 15km/hr, that should not turn off. Is this problem after 1st servicing ? Don't change the back tyre, let it be the same size. No need arises to change it [emoji106]

Bajaj will make you win. All you have to do is maintain it correctly, mainly engine oil changes. Removing the dummy cover did some good in engine cooling. Ask the service centre not to do any tuning during services. They will mess the things [emoji35] really bad. In first service they would have filled with bajaj oil, change if after running 700-800 kms and use any semi synthetic oil. Take it to second service at around 4800kms. Then they will fill bajaj oil again, change it 700-800 kms and use semi synthetic oil. Take it for third service in 9800 kms. Remove the bajaj oil after 700-800 kms and fill in MOTUL 7100 20W50 fully synthetic oil. There you go [emoji106]
During first 1000 kms i received around 58-61 kmpl. I didnt rev above 3500 rpm even once. After 1000 kms till 2000 i received 53-55 kmpl. The limit was 5000rpm. Now i tear it in 100+, i get 43-45. Iam happy with its power and smoothness. I use xtra premium. Hope the information fulfills your question. [emoji56]Xplore the inside, Love it, Ride it & Enjoy...

Re: Pulsar NS 160
Use a decent 20W50 oil and change at 2k intervals, nothing more, even the 300/- rs Shell HX3 would do you good. Reason for the same is due to taking into consideration size of your oil sump and clutch residue and blow by that contaminate the engine oil, hence better go with the thumb rule and change oil at 2k interval for a 1L sump.Originally posted by Riyas View PostIn the end, whether in race or longetivity,

Go with standard fuel, using "PREMIUM" fuel on a motorcycle designed to run on pump gas doesn't make much sense in the first case, not to mention that the premium fuels sold in our bunks are of questionable quality compared to regular fuel.
With the money you save from the above, I'd suggest you ride more cause more km's = more happiness!

Re: Pulsar NS 160
With mineral oil NS doesn't perform well. It loses smoothness in 30 mins run + heat generated.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostUse a decent 20W50 oil and change at 2k intervals, nothing more, even the 300/- rs Shell HX3 would do you good. Re: Pulsar NS 160
The feeling you get is more or less psychological, but then again personal experiences matter. Which in my case is that I've ridden motorcycles hard on mineral oil crossing many a states at a time without breaking a sweat, so do take my word for it when it comes to investing on so called "Premium" oils, just saying.Originally posted by Riyas View PostWith mineral oil NS doesn't perform well. While you're at it do go through the following article;

Re: Pulsar NS 160
S..... Semi synthetic works fine. You too can try lean setting (for increased throttle response & mileage) if you are running a semi / synthetic oil. Lean AFR makes engine running more hotter than normal in high speeds. You need a synthetic oil to balance it.....Originally posted by mortal monk View PostIn India I don't think full synthetic oil is needed for 160cc bike,semi synthetic works fine... N I don't know how ur getting 45-47 milage mine is giving around 38-40. And Max speed I have done is 118kmphXplore the inside, Love it, Ride it & Enjoy...

Re: Pulsar NS 160
Guys, completed 10000+ kms.. i am currently facing many issues with my bike.. the most disturbing one is drive wheel chain.. I am not sure whether it's the issue with the chain or sprocket.. and the next one screeching of rear brakes.. other than that I have issues with timing chain sound while driving.. but it seems to be okay in idle.. and my engine gets hotter too quick.. I can feel the heat in my legs .. is this because of their cheap grade engine oil I m not sure.. 😥😥
