Company's recommendation is 4500 km for second service. But i am thinking of doing it in 3000. The oil is already dark. Did you get a small beating sound at first, when you go past 60 ? While increasing the speed it goes smoothly (with a ssssss sound). And when maintaining a constant speed that sound comes, But not always. I hope may be it goes away after this range of RPM gets used to....
        Have you noticed this ?

NS 160 have short gear ratio if u accelerate it in low gear past 7k RPM it sounda little different (if in 3rd gear) but if u do it in 4th or 5 gear it feels smooth and easy and sound is like grawl beyond 7rpm like Ns200 have in mid range (4k-7k rpm)

What i told about the sound is in 5th gear at 60kmph. I have not exceeded 65 till now..... The gear shift is always smooth (at any gear). While moving from 50 - 60 in fifth gear, it is very smooth, but when i stay in 60, the sound changes. Not that smooth...

                  Re: Pulsar NS 160

As the running in period is over,
I decided to check the performance of my bike once for the first time. I thought of not going above 6000 RPM until next service. But cant wait to check the 14.6 Nm response. Had a check today morning [emoji7]. I am also sharing my experiences till now...

NS160's expression at 5th gear in various RPM's.

                  @ 2000 RPM - 24Kmph - Not happy, but surely not sad.
                  @ 3000 RPM - 35Kmph - Cool.
                  @ 4000 RPM - 48Kmph - Butter Soft.
                  @ 5000 Rpm - 61Kmph - This is it.
                  @ 6000 Rpm - 73Kmph - Surprisingly, Again This is it.
@ 7000 Rpm - 84Kmph - Some thing suddenly comes in past 7000, Sound changes to eagerness & Says Bring it on.
                  @ 8000Rpm - 96Kmph - Becomes smooth with less sound.

But i heard a "tap tap" "pat pat" sound heavily, and found out that it was from my heart[emoji173] , So brought the bike back to normal.

According to me this is a very good bike with a descent mileage. The smooth Range is between 40 - 50 Kmph. I dont find any dis advantages as a daily commuter, The rear suspension is very nice but it really needs some load on it. As i am just 54kg, the suspension is not making me feel. But when there is a load (my friend) in the rear seat, the nice presence of suspension is felt. Dust accumulation on the chain is being a head ache. Because at day time, it is parked aside a dusty town road. The accelerator cable hits on the right side tank extension, & that is very irritating.
                  Rest is Best [emoji106] .

You are right, he is the same guy, posting the same review in every site he knows. Problem happens, but not with all bikes definitely. I checked reviews on every available site before purchasing the bike. There were no bad opinions, just complaints about missing rear disc, and non wider tyres, which really is not an important thing for a 160cc bike.

Go for it and i request you to become active in this thread with all your doubts and experiences. It will be really helpful for others.

                      I missed to ask you...
Did you rev it up to 7k in third gear ? [emoji33]

Shift your gears up (soon as possible) within the allotted range, when the engine asks you to shift up. Cruise only in top gear [emoji120] .

Buddy this kinda mileage is impossible as nowadays even scooters doesn't provide claimed mileage.. better luck... But u can expect around 45-48kmpl under economic riding conditions and if you have followed proper break in.

Guys, actually I have been facing one issue for a long time. Whenever I accelerate the vehicle, it progresses in a linear manner as usual. But when you blip the throttle, it revs accordingly and is followed by a strange sound.. I m not sure of what it is.. I think it's the timing chain or tappet noise .. but how come a new vehicle can come across this issue very soon ??
