It is 20W50. API SL grade.
At service let the guys fill dtsi oil,
      Run it for 1000 - 1500 kms,
Then fill motul 3100 mineral oil,
Take it 3000kms, you reach another service.

Repeat it until warranty period to cover warranty. Afterwards go for motul 5100 or 7100.

Does it feel equal to what i said earlier

"What i told about the sound is in 5th gear at 60kmph. I have not exceeded 65 till now..... The gear shift is always smooth (at any gear). While moving from 50 - 60 in fifth gear, it is very smooth, but when i stay in 60, the sound changes. Not that smooth..."

Changed the engine oil just now & had a 6km test drive. It feels better without the extra noises. Engine braking has decreased, response is better, Dont know if the engine becomes more smooth after some kms, but i am happy to get it back in smooth condition. As i did not get motul mineral oil, i chose shell advance 20w50. I dont expect it to work more. Need to take it smooth for next 2500kms, Second service...

It has to be semi synthetic, we can use fully synthetic after 10k km only. N what's your choices, which brand u r going To use or u gonna stick to Bajaj DTS si

Yea I know.. but I asked the SVC guys to change the oil.. they are telling they cannot purchase oil from other companies.. that's the problem.. so I cannot change oil till my free service gets completed..

It is mineral oil. Next service is just 2800 ahead (at max). A semi synthetic cannot get its full life. Y waste it now ? Mineral oil would do this job beautifully.

A big "NO" to bajaj dtsi oil.
It has not improved even now.
Still the same old rubbish oil which breaks very easily. I will go with motul 5100 or 7100. I have a 65 km daily run, have to check both before choosing a permanent one.

Yes, until warranty period fill dtsi oil from bajaj service, after running 1000+ km change it with a good mineral oil, run 3000 on that, go for next service. When you are out of warranty period. Choose 5100 or 7100 which suits you...
