Thanks for the explanation mate!Originally posted by ayrus View PostThe RR310 has USD forks and the diameter of the tube is different. So the handlebar won't fit the Gixxer. You can probably fit other clip ons which are available aftermarket but RR clip ons won't fit.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
I have a small doubt or I shall say topic to discuss about.
Just did the first servicing of my Apache RR310 on 2nd Jan, 2018. I have also attached my service bill.
Here are my views:
1) They charged Rs 918 for engine oil change. As much as I have researched, the cost should be around 600-700 rupees. I also enquired regarding this but they said it varies from state to state, which is kind of weird. (Only the oil change).
2) Related to engine oil itself, for the time being I believed that they are putting a semi synthetic oil as the SVC people didn't know about the particular Motul Oil they are giving to users, all they said that its a semi synthetic oil. They also said me that if I buy the oil from outside then its going to be cost more as what they give is from a barrel which is cheaper.
Luckily I found a barrel in the SVC and found that the engine oil is actually "MOTUL 3000 4T PLUS 15W50" oil. I immediately checked my vehicle manual (Page No. 119), it was the same in the manual too.
Now here comes the bad part. After happily returning home I began my research and found that the oil itself is a MINERAL oil, not even semi synthetic and its costs, at max, Rs 350 per litre. If we do a simple calculation for 1.7 Litres which our bikes need, it turns out to be Rs. 595. By the way, Motul 3000 4t plus 15w50 hi tech oil is available at just Rs. 800 in amazon for 2.5 LITRES.
In no way its cheaper to get it from a barrel in SVC rather than buying one from market itself.
Now those who have a bit indept knowledge about engine oil, do you guys think our such a wonderful bike deserves a mineral oil? Even BMW is giving semi synthetic oil for G310R, which has the same engine as ours.
Please share your views. I would love to know how much your nearby SVC charged for Engine oil.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
Motul 3000 at such costs is daylight robbery. I'd it costs 350/LTR in 1 LTR pack, it must be costing max 250/LTR in barrel to them. Now, further issue is that I don't think they should be using such oil for RR but since it's still in break-in period, mineral oil is ok for that use. You can always go for soe.tbing like Motul 7100 once the run-in is complete. By the way, what's the recommended oil change interval in the manual?Originally posted by AP_SF View PostI have a small doubt or I shall say topic to discuss about.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
Mineral oil is better for new engine and there is no harm in using it even in long term. But if u wish to switch over to FS, do it after 10000kms.Originally posted by AP_SF View PostI have a small doubt or I shall say topic to discuss about.

The oil MOTUL 3000 is a mineral oil and the cost is Rs. 289.00 per liter in SVC itself. They have scammed you pretty much.
Drop a mail to tvs with the invoice if you wish to get your money back

As per manual, the oil change interval is at 10,000 kms and top up at 5,000 kms.Originally posted by Zapps View PostMotul 3000 at such costs is daylight robbery. I wonder how a mineral oil going to last for such amount of kilometres.
I love the motul 7100 to be honest, but Motul 7100 doesn't come in 15w50 grade configuration. It is available in 10w50 and I know by using 10w50 oil, it wont hamper the bike engine in any way but incase something goes wrong, tvs might immediately point out that I used a wrong grade and that's the reason why "any" problem occurred.
I will switch to 300v though. It is available in 15w50 grade.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
The windshield is really large so it does a great job of deflecting the wind upto 110-120kmph. And I am 6ft tall so only region where I feel a bit of wind blast is around my helmet which is very less. So in short its a great plus point of the bike and it does its job very well.Originally posted by rydergeorge View PostNeed some help guys,
How good is the windshield of rr310? And how much will it cost? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
By the way, from your words I think you are planning on fixing it on some other bike. No idea about the cost and availability though.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
I'm still using a karizma r and not planning to upgrade soon. I'm searching for a practical windshield better than the stock one. It would be great if you enquire about it next time you hit service centre.Originally posted by AP_SF View PostThe windshield is really large so it does a great job of deflecting the wind upto 110-120kmph. Re: TVS Apache RR310
Fitting RR310's visor will be a heavy task and probably wont fit at all because RR310's visor is a huge one.Originally posted by rydergeorge View PostI'm still using a karizma r and not planning to upgrade soon. I will suggest to get a windshield extender, way more practical and useful than cross fitting something else. And it will probably cost less too.
I dont have any particular link but there are some videos to refer. Do check them out.

Re: TVS Apache RR310
Just a correction, 7100 it's pretty much available in 15W50 configuration please find the below pic for reference, except that it's not imported to Inida much by the dealers and distributors due to being not so popular demand, because they see it as redundant oil grade sitting inbetween 10W50 and 20W50 when both are available.Originally posted by AP_SF View PostI love the motul 7100 to be honest, but Motul 7100 doesn't come in 15w50 grade configuration.
Dealers will make the user to go for either of the 2 grades when asked for 15W50 since there is absolutely no difference if we use the 10W50 or 15W50 in our Indian conditions.
But I have seen it in couple of shops who have in stock here in Bangalore JC road and few well know Superbike accessory shops.
