I have no plans for RR310 but am eagerly waiting for the g310GS. These bikes being essentially pretty much same under the skin, am dreading the tak tak sound there. Those of you familiar with first gen duke 390 (which i had) would know that bike had a very sensitive chain. If bit loose, and it use to make tak tak sound while riding over uneven surfaces. Many were not bothered with the sound, but it use to irritate the hell out of me. Maybe some sort of sound based OCD.
RR310 riders, can you share your thoughts on how bad this chain sound it and how much better with updated roller? Also share your feedback on the low-end torque of the engine. Can we ride the bike at say 20kmph or lower in (say) 2nd gear without lugging the engine? 390 was a high strung, happy-to-rev type engine which did not suit my riding style. Is this RR310 engine on similar lines, or a bit more torquey towards the lower revs, where we dont have to shift gears frequently. Do share your thoughts.
How confident are you that the tuning of TVs n BMW will be same?
IMO a direct comparison isn't ideal. Please have a TD so that you experience in real.

The bike pulls good at low end
1st can take till 11-13 (from zero ofcourse)
    2nd - 14-22
    3rd - 23-31
    4th - 32-40
    Rest you can figure out

The above numbers can have +/- 1 or 2kms based on various conditions

Looks like initial demand of the Apache rr 310 has waned off in the 50 cities. Tvs has managed to sell only 595 bikes on May, compared to 862 bikes on April.
TVS Apache RR 310 Sales Report: TVS Apache RR 310 sold 595 units in May 2018, bringing down its own league of success that started with 983 units in March 2018. The number of RR310’s sold in April 2018 was 862 units. Carrying a price tag of above INR 2 lakh restricts the motorcycle sales as buyer...

I don't understand why they have not expanded their dealers network even after 7 months. Are they trying to pull an Apple? Their lazyness affects the owners too. For a small service, I have to travel 400 KM's.

Read the article by motoroids. It's clearly mentioned that TVS dispatched more than double the number of vehicles. However half of them were delivered due to undisclosed reasons.

        Thanks

thanks Sheik Mohamed, dineshaugustin and mayor 392 on your inputs. Much assuring this is.
I do understand that the mapping would be different on 310gs and being an adventure category bike, it should hopefully be tuned more towards low-end and mid-range usable torque. But as the basic engine architecture is shared between the RR310 and 310GS the soul will remain similar even if the character differs. I ride a versys 650 which shares its engine platform with ninja 650, vulcan 650 and Er6n. All these bikes are tuned differently, but the general feel is more or less same, if u get what i am saying. Going by the feedback here, i get positive vibes. Am almost sold on that bike, a test ride hopefully seal it for me. Thanks!!

I get that. This engine has character or attitude whatever people call it. U can feel it while riding.

              Mileage update.

              KMs done : 250kms

              Mileage (T2T) : 32kmpl.

              Mileage (Console) : 33kmpl.

Traffic condition : Almost heavy traffic ( Not bumper to bumper traffic, typical Chennai.)

Console reading seems to be pretty accurate. I will update the value periodically. My guess, in case of heavy traffic ( throughout the trip) RR would give 25kmpl as a minimum.

Well, Customising your bike should be based on your taste. Let No one influence your unique style. If u were asking about quality, all the Autographix tank pads on Amazon are of good quality and cheap. Here's mine. Got it for 170 bucks

Hi everyone, I'm confused of choosing between RR310 and Gixxer SF.
Is TVS Apache RR 310 suitable for tall riders (6'1'')? I sometimes get mild lower back problems (not often). Note that I find comfortable with my back straight and slightly bent forward (I'm comfortable riding tall bicycles) but will bent knee be a big issue in RR310? I'm really not a fan of KTMs.

Which one is better RR 310 or Gixxer SF regarding ride comfort for regular commute and weekend short trips (200-400 km round trips) ?
Please suggest before I plan to take a test ride of both.

They are totally different! How could you ask such question? The 310RR will be good for both city and long rides! You just have to get used to the riding position which will take about a week or so to get used to!

I did a 850 kms ride from Bhopal to Delhi on Ninja 250 on the first day itself! Coming from riding a ZMR which is a comfortable bike!!

Well, the point is! Any bike can be ridden as a commuter or a tourer!! I have seen people touring on CBR1000RR which is usually seen on the track days

                              Great!

A bike which can do 175 kmph can cruise at 120-140 kmph comfortably!! In other words, less strain on the engine which translates to less fuel consumption!

My Ninja 650 gives me a better fuel economy at 130 kmph compared to my Ninja 250 [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Unfortunately, ZMR has been discontinued else my first choice would be that only. I think you've misinterpreted the questions here. I knew both are good for city commuting and long rides but the question is for a height of 6.1, which one would give better comfort - like less cramping, bending etc. Also, I too did long rides in a single day even with 100cc bikes fyi.
