Today I got a test ride of the RR and I felt that despite the weight mentioned in the spec sheet it feels very very light which is very much unlike my experience with the Dominar and I was able to get 90% flatfoot on this bike. Now looking at the seat height spec-sheet wise there's not much difference between D400 and RR310's height but it felt quite a bit different while actually seated. Why is that?

Secondly, I used to ride the Dominar and I didn't particularly enjoy that experience because it felt heavy, cumbersome and was a pain to take out of parking(on uneven surfaces) due to the weight and my height 170cm (5.7ft) I felt like the Dominar is more suited to riders taller than me and while I haven't yet checked this particular aspect on the RR in an uneven spot it felt so much lighter despite just a 12kg difference in weight. So am I right in thinking RR will be easier to take out of a parking spot compared to the D400?

Third, how does the lack of a grab rail on the left side feel when moving the bike around manually? Do you do it by holding the left handle and tail body panel or do you grab the right rail regardless of which side you're standing on?
Comparing wrong bikes although they may fall in the same price range.
You are comparing Pressed Steel Perimeter chassis aligned towards cruising side to a track inclined Trellis frame bike.
The posture is very different in the two bikes. Dominar carries more metal than fibre to look at the bulk.
A narrow seat in a cruiser is gonna be a massive pain. Comfort level is very different in those two bikes.
Stability at sustained high speed and long distance travel with ease is what Dominar excels on.
RR on the other hand will be a bike that'll make the rider super happy on twists and tracks.
I cannot compare Lewis Hamiton to Rafael Nadal although both are sportsmen.
Taking Domi out of parking felt easy to me when compared to RR. Taking my R15 out of parking felt difficult too when compared to my ex-Duke 200. I currently own a P220 and it limits my capabilities to park or take out in areas that are space restricted.

That's why its always suggested to take a test ride of your options.

Main reason why you felt RR310 to be lighter is because of its shorter wheel base.

Now this also depends on different people like many prefer Dominar's upright position for traffic and many prefer RR310's ergonomics.

And also the grab rail which is given in RR310 is actually kind of useless (for me atleast) to move the bike around[emoji23].

But overall I am really happy with RR 310

Thanks to everyone who gave me their opinions. I've taken the test drive of the vehicle a few times but was uncertain why the difference was so massive between the two bikes but now I have a better idea and pulled the plug...

Since I don't want to own the bike long term(future study plans) and definitely don't want to pay for 5 years insurance I looked around and bought a used RR310 in decent condition and 5K Odo and so far I'm very happy with it

This bike is from the Jan/Feb batch of 2018 so it's still running on all original parts. I've heard there's UPDATED parts for the vehicle. Is there a list somewhere I can refer to so that I can make the dealership comply and get me those things?

          Congratulations!
Best part about this bike is 2nd owner also gets warranty.
On the other hand bajaj or ktm does not offer warranty to 2nd owner.
For now you may have to change brake pads only.
Be rest assured parts are reliable in this bike.

Good choice and wise grown up decision taking the future travelling for studies into account.

I am sorry to say, but that does not hold true.
Even TVS does not offer any kind of warranty to the 2nd owner. Not only KTM, Bajaj.

All TVS Manuals clearly says "vehicle in the hands of original retail purchaser" meaning the one who got the vehicle from showroom, the 1st owner.
If one is lucky enough, he might pass it on and TVS might oblige it out of good will, but the policy clearly says the opposite.

If the RR310 Manual says something else, then please share the same, the 1st page of "WARRANTY AND SERVICES" section in the owners manual.

You might be right on this as I am not 100% sure.
Even I was planning to purchase used bike and then I called Tvs customer care to check if 2nd owner will get warranty and the answer was "yes" from them.

              Anyways I bought new one[emoji16][emoji16]

I too have talked to both TVS Customer Care regarding this as well as asked at the local dealership(and some other friends that own TVS bikes) and they said the warranty isn't dependent on the # of owners. I don't really know what to believe now.

That said, the user manual does say what kiran2508 pointed out, original retail purchaser.

Yes, like I said TVS is honoring the 2nd owners for now from what I know just out of good heart, since most of the parts claimed in warranty doesn't cost more than ₹1-2K.
But like you said they always have a chance and right to deny big claims to the 2nd owner related to whole engine etc etc which might cost upwards of ₹10K.

                  Good luck

I am not sure about about 20 updated parts but here are few parts that are updated and you should get it too because they help in decreasing the vibrations.

                    1) Bigger and heavier handle barends.
                    2) Rubber padding between the visor and the plastic cladding (near the instrument cluster).
                    3) Softer chain roller.

Good decision btw. Feel free to ask anything regarding the bike and have a great time.

                      Thanks for letting me know.

Unfortunately the local dealership that has the RR dealership claims to have no knowledge about any such changed/updated parts and that they are free of cost, "no such circular has been issued" and as such I'll have to wait and see or go to a different city to get it done.

Since I purchased used, the bike I could find isn't in its absolute prime condition(but there weren't any others) so I would appreciate some opinions on what I should do about certain things that are in bad shape or worn out.

I presume this bike was kept unused for a fair amount of time and has suffered some weathering because some parts are moderately rusty. Do I need to completely change the chain and the disc visible in the pictures?

Look at both the chain and the disc on the right side

I'll take a better picture in the morning, this is too small since I lost the original capture

Clean it with coca cola and tinfoil. Coke has phosphoric acid which removes rust.
                            Nothing major at all.
                            Ride safe !

I was skeptical of it working but I tried it and definitely removed most of the rust layer so at least further corrosion is prevented.

Yeah the previous owner probably had it standing still for a long time I guess. I got it serviced yesterday for that very reason to ensure everything was alright.
