I've had the bike for about 16 months now and covered only 5000 odd kilometers since it has been parked from March 2020 or so. Did the second / 12 month service just to ensure everything is running fine. The SC replaced my rectifier under warranty because there was apparently some issue with the charging.

    Hello Interceptians(made this up)!

Did any of you try out the rear footpeg relocator from RoadPowerCustoms, Bangalore? Would really appreciate a review.

Also planning on swapping the stock exhausts for an AEW 201. Any long term reviewers? I've chosen this particular exhaust over other's to ensure compatibility with my saddle bags.

    Cheers!

To be honest we desperately need alloys for the bike. I have now faced 5 punctures on my rear with only 6k on the odo, pretty sure I would be among the top riders under these parameters. RE please, give us alloys
Well good news! The date seems to be Feb 2021
Royal Enfield has now confirmed that they will be introducing alloy wheels for the 650 twins early next year.

Hi just made this small maintenance video on the clutch switch of the Motorcycle , so if anyone facing the issue of not able to start the Motorcycle in gear using clutch then this would be helpful.
This clutch switch is present in every Motorcycle could be little different but working is same.
    Hope this would be helpful.☺️

hi fellow riders. Bought my interceptor 650 baker express (GHOST) on October 21, 1 month has been really good for me. Apart from regular issues like seat, handle bar and engine heating up in traffic. I have not face any other issues.
certain mods that I have done for my convenience are
*Large rally handle from art of motorcycle (no changes made on clutch cable or accelerator cable)
*crash cage and sump guard from zana
*visor from puig, after that found carbon racing team visor which seems more better
*back rest and saddle stay from a local dealer, which is yet to be tested
*hazard lights from race dynamics (no extra switches, just a plug and play system)
*rideon robotouch charger and a local made mobile holder

in a month I rode so much and did the second service at 4715 kms.

    PROS:
*obviously the price and the pride of owning a piece of history which had made a time travel.
*engine is so refined and smooth, it's like a cruising missile in the highway.
*gear shift is pretty smooth, when compared to my earlier bikes (classic, karizma, pulsar 220, Duke 390).
*I personally like the cruising under 100kmph, and I fall in love with the bike every single time. Still have never tried to hit the red lines.
*maintenance is actually easy, as the bike is old school just stock bones.
*Easy to change parts everything is DIY. apart from problems with ecu, rest everything is manageable. No modern electronics which are complicated.

    CONS:
    * Seat is very uncomfortable
*13.5 L tank breaks my heart everytime I ride (I usually prefer Shell unfortunately there's very few Shell fuel stations on highways)
    *handlebars are little low
*headlights could have been better, led indicators and tail lights are very common now, but still they offer old bulbs
*RE could offer all these after market products as standard or as accessories (still wondering why they are giving business to outsiders 😂😂)
*rear footpegs is gonna be a hell ride for the pillion rider (uncomfortable seats with a uncomfortable footpeg 🙄)

Future upgrades probably a custom seat, bright led headlights, leather grips

    Hey everyone,
I had posted long back asking for advice regarding long ride home after the lockdown was lifted, unfortunately due to issues with registration couldn't bring my back home then. I finally rode it back yesterday total 610 km on my Baker express and it was my first ride.
    1. The bike could cruise on 100-120 kph easily and this was a very surprising for me as the previous bike I had as Pulsar 180
    2. The stock seat is god awful and I should've replaced when I had the chance.
    3. I hit a dog at roughly 100 kph and I was certain I was going to fall but the bikes weight helped me keep it under control. The handled wobbled but I was able to bring it under control. I'm not sure whether I killed the dog but I didn't break or swerve due to a LPT I had read on reddit. If I had I would've definitely fell. I felt bad for the dog for sometime after I realized how close I had been to death.
    4. I had to get a Explorer v3 jacket at the last moment. The new jacket looks good has Knox armor and goes well with the classic look of the bike. RE dealer gave me 15% off and a free duffel bag which was a bonus.
    5. I was always concerned about the tires getting punctured in the middle of nowhere but luckily I didn't suffer any punctures.
Thanks Ijs who wrote a detailed guide last time and the community, learnt a lot being here.

While the Alloys for Interceptor seem to be taking forever to come, the on ground demand seems to be increasing by the day. I wonder what is keeping RE from coming out with these. Perhaps they are looking to launch the 650 cruiser with alloys which are compatible with the Interceptor. I really could not make out much in terms of tyre size from the spyshots available on net.

Fellow xbhpians with some more knowledge may enlighten us...
    Just three things needed (desperately)

    1. Alloys at reasonable rates
    2. Better headlight
    3. Clock on the twin-pot dials

    Hey There,

Well apologies for such late reply (a month!).

I have upgraded front suspension on my Interceptor to YSS. I found during my first 5K of riding the bike, that I exceeded the capabilities of front suspension. I needed a firmer setup. Then Ohlin (Way too expensive) and YSS (I paid 23600) were only choices. Now Way2Speed has come up with a very affordable solution. I have only used YSS front suspensions (For 4K) and am extremely happy with it. The ride is more comfortable, planted both at slow speeds and at higher speeds. Best is we can adjust preload on the go. Damping valves work as it should.

Preload adjusters give you about 10mm more in suspension travel, which is a plus.

    Would I recommend it? YES.

I am already contemplating upgrading rear suspension springs with progressive ones.

I heard about front fork pre-load adjusters for RE Twins doing the rounds recently. Has anybody used any such pre-load adjusters? If yes, could you please provide a review about it.

    Are they worth it?

How much of a difference do they make when compared to changing the entire stock front suspension and installing aftermarket progressive springs?

March Autotech is an Indian company I found while searching for the pre-load adjusters. Recommendation about any other company making pre-load adjusters are welcome.

The new design gear levers, brake fluid reservoir, rotary action switchgear and the overall feeling of premium ness was certainly screaming out loud to me. I must say that they have surpassed the Twins build quality. To me, the seat looks like the highlight of the package very plush and comfortable. Ideal for long stints. Funnily when I first noticed the Tripper pod I asked if this could be retrofitted on Twins. The sales guy was clueless. But I was sure that it could be done easily.

Now we just wait for the initial customer feedback and see if the engine is nigglefree. Going by the Twins experience I expect a runaway success on our hands.
Yes the tripper pod would be available soon for twins for around 4.8k Rupees.

Got in touch with the territory service manager but i'm very skeptical now and I see that he's one of them sweet tongued sales people who'll say what's expedient. He's told me that he'll get a royal enfield "Flyer" (whatever that means) to check my bike and restore it to condition.

FIngers crossed. I've made a post on my fb and tagged royal enfield. don't think they can take this one down. we'll see
