Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
This is my jugaad for better gripping. Had it for a few months now, the adhesive is rock solid and so is the comfort.Originally posted by Chakrapani View Post

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
I have experienced buzzing during prolonged rides but it was more like an inherent vibration caused when maintaining speeds of 100 kmph on the highway. I had initially fitted thick aftermarket rubber grips along with risers. The buzz and numbness was completely gone. I have now put Trip machine grip wraps and all is well. I will finally upgrade to Grip Puppies in the future.Originally posted by nagharajabishek View PostHi. I'm notcing the same issue and it bothers me quite a bit. In my opinion the stock Interceptor grips are hard and coupled with the slightly committed riding position tend to put more strain on the palms which leads to numbness. Check out Himalayan grips they are much softer comparatively and are more suited for touring.

Here is another query, for users who had the bike for long, did you experience the left hand grip to be more buzzy than the right? Mine is present across the rpm range and is so bad that it has caused numbness on my left hand should I be driving for a hour and a half.
Speaking to the mechanics they stated as the left cylinder is the leading at the firing sequence, the vibrations could be caused by the engine, considering that my bike has crossed only 987 kms as of this post, unless they open the engine, everything else is speculation.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
I had noticed a leak in my right fork on my yesterday ride. So i did this to fix it. In this video i will show you what i did and how i did it. I made a home made sealmate/seal buddy to do it.
This would work on both telescopic and usd forks and would probably save you from spending on fork seal.

Re: Rattling noise from the exhaust after rides
If they caught you then they can fine you for all non oem stuff you have , handle bar is an essential oem item homologated with the Motorcycle non oem items are not homologated.Originally posted by Chakrapani View PostRecently I came across a video on YT where a gentleman was fined in Kerala for having non standard handlebars on his RE bike. While we all know that any mod beyond the stock form is a violation of the law, people being fined for handles is not something that I have not heard of in the last five years. Would request fellow riders to share if there have been any such experiences in various parts of the country...
Tody the situation is that if you were fine for stop line crossing with a red light cam then they will check all other valid documents related to the vehicle and you will get chalan for same if you don't have say a valid puc or insurance, as all the records are maintained in the system.

It's got decent reviews and IMO is better than 1 inch riser's. I've had the carbon racing riser for a year now and I'm not sure if it's the best solution to an upright position. Then again, your height, riding posture, terrain conditions, etc. play an important role in the process and you'll have to take them into consideration

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Hello fellow Twin riders!
I heard about front fork pre-load adjusters for RE Twins doing the rounds recently. Has anybody used any such pre-load adjusters? If yes, could you please provide a review about it.
Are they worth it?
How much of a difference do they make when compared to changing the entire stock front suspension and installing aftermarket progressive springs?

March Autotech is an Indian company I found while searching for the pre-load adjusters. Recommendation about any other company making pre-load adjusters are welcome.

I think I'm gonna stay with stock for now. I did 200 km today and it was fine. Towards the end, I felt a bit of discomfort, but I think I'm more inclined to start working on making my body more supple than meddling with the bike
at least for now.
I noticed a few red specks today on one of my exhausts, where it meets the engine. Halfway through the ride, I noticed that the other exhaust was also turning orangish, again, where it meets the engine.
Is this normal, or should I contact the service centre?

I saw you mentioning handlebar risers in an earlier post - out of curiosity, which ones have you gone for? And has it altered the balance/handling of the bike in any way?
two days into my ownership, i was sure that I needed them. But as of now, my body seems to have adjusted to the stock setup. There is the caveat, however, that I haven't really done any significant distance at a stretch.
I'd like to know more about your experience. Browsed around for the available options and hit upon lluvia, HDT customs and ADV tribe. ADV tribe seems to be of decent build quality but this is entirely guesswork based on branding, website, youtube reviews etc.

Re: Rattling noise from the exhaust after rides
I bought risers almost a year and half ago when there were barely any risers in the market. What I have are the basic first design of risers which were manufactured by HDT Customs. Basically a plain aluminium version of the type that I have attached in the photo. These are the simplest risers in terms of design and can be fixed by anyone with a small spanner. These risers have not affected the handling or the balance of the front end of the motorcycle in any way. They have just raised the handle in its present position by an inch which makes long rides a lot more comfortable.Originally posted by nagharajabishek View PostChakrapani

The other more complex risers provided by HDT customs, Indimotard, Carbon racing etc, not only increase the handlebar height but also bring the handle closer to the rider. I have not yet felt the need to change my risers to the more complex ones. On the contrary I have been riding with the GT 650 clip on handlebars for the past one year because I like the committed position for short rides.
To simplify, what riser you choose would be dependent upon the final riding position that you want. Having pull back kind of risers is not a bad idea. HDT customs is a guy known to me and his custom parts are usually well designed. Similarly Indimotard is also a very well known name. Based on the popularity of Carbon Racing windshields even they seem to be doing well with customers.
Only point that you must keep in mind is that during installation in case of pull back risers like HDT customs you will have to remove the tank to reroute one cable. This has to be done correctly. Hence handle bar riser installation is best done either in the RE ASS or in the shop where you are purchasing.
Go ahead get risers of your choice. They are a worthwhile investment.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Would like to add this for the modification aficionados here.
Basically, the RE Himalayan forks are being swapped with some modification.
There is chain of video related to the same.
Hope it helps someone, planning along this route.
Cheers!
