Lets just be It's a number... and just meant to be.

If you care about numbers, then the power to weight ratio of 124.08 bhp/ton simply does not add up. I did my calculations and I got 122.60 (considering 17.03ps) and 124.55 (considering 17.3 ps)...

@badbikerboy Do let us know how the oil performs? It's semi-synthetic right. Currently running on Castrol 4T Activ. The vibes are a little less around 4-4.5k and normal betwee 4.5k-5.8k . Above those it's butter smooth. Not much different for TVS TRU4... except a little cheaper

      • Few questions, Just booked my bike

Hey Guys, first of all thanks a lot for all your comments/info on bike. I am new to this biking community and from past few weeks I learnt a lot by browsing the site. Guys i have a few questions for u all and i would appreciate quick help on this.

1 I had just booked Apache RTR 180 CC Perl white and expected delivery is 8 days. I want to know what all things i need to take care of before taking the delivery ( buying bike for the first time).

2 Does Perl white costs 1000 bucks more ?( Showroom guy asked 1000 more for white color)

3 Somewhere in thread i read an article ( by Motoman, where he recommends ripping the bike to his limits during run in period ) Can i follow this method or ride my bike for 1000 kms as my Manual suggests ?

4 What is the reliability of this bike ? ( 2 -3 years down the lane, as i want to use this for close to 4 to 5 years before moving on to car).

5 The proper run in Procedure please ?( The posts are scattered so much that it is hard to compile the entire procedure). Please give me the gist of the process.

Thanks guys and i am looking forward for your quick reply

Just do a visual inspection of the bike and look out for large scratches.

2 Does Perl white costs 1000 bucks more ?( Showroom guy asked 1000 more for white color)

No it does not. All colours cost the same. Refuse to pay a rupee more. Try other dealer if this one refuses.

AFAIK this is not really suited for Indian bikes. Keep the rpm below 4K on all gears at least till the 1st service

4 What is the reliability of this bike ? ( 2 -3 years down the lane, as i want to use this for close to 4 to 5 years before moving on to car).

Don't think anyone here has this bike for 2 years. Everyone is covered under warranty But I think it's been good for most so far.

5 The proper run in Procedure please ?( The posts are scattered so much that it is hard to compile the entire procedure). Please give me the gist of the process.

Really simple. Try not to exceed 4K rpm till the 1st service. After that it depends. Since you want to keep this for 3-4 years, I think it is better if you stay within 4k till 1000km.
Answers in bold. BTW welcome onboard

          • Need a suggestion!

hey guys, I didn't changed the oil-filter bcoz at that time it wasn't available at the shop.

So tell me if I can change it now? Is it really necessary? Any harmful effect?

The oil filter usually contains 15-20ml of oil

                    Wouldnt that matter?

Changing The Oil Filter Now is advisable.
