Any living soul who knows even the T of tire wont be buyin any rubber which has TVS written onto, you're lucky if the tire dealer wants them, exchange them with the pairs of zappers for both ends,i think he MAY then charge you for single zapper only ie exchangin both the TVS's with the new zapper, cuz the max those pair of rubbers will fetch you in the market will be around 350-500.

              • Hi all,
Just 6 months to bike, and hell lot a problem(wondering wht will after 2yrs downline). As this was my first bike, lot were the expectations. And with 74k of hefty price tht shld be taken care of,But invain nothing as expected.Ride now is no more interesting.

Starting with gear shifting, it get stuck while shifting 1-2-3.Really having hard times finding neutral.

The One-way clutch problem seems not leaving me. Had it done, last month itself.Facing it again.

Also mileage is also a problem, just getting 30-32 kmpl.Very bad i guess.

wht i can say abt the tyres, everybody knws it quit well.they not only sucks, but are terrible as well. Gone for dayout with freind at tungareshwar(hilly Mountain area), as roads was muddy bike was skidding like a hell.Guy with passion plus was making it easy(not though). At one point two of my freinds had to push it from back, but was still dificult. On this one said "kya bhangaar bike he tera, bech de usko".I was not able to shotback.(at tht point, felt the same).Really embarressed in front of girls.

More to worsen the situation are this TVS service centers. Really had a bad first service experience.
Really guys all this stuffs pissing me off. Just one quest in mind " Had I made a right choice? ".

its a simple theory brodder tyre more traction

i know tvs rubber is hard but i live in delhi and has good tarmac roads here on it they sticks like glue
and from last one month its raining here every day and has to go in rain
they are performing well on speed of 50

this give me a good idea. done some drag session,
but this time i think to do a braking session with them
                      on tarmac.

chicane where are you please give us report of your new tyre how it is differ from tvs tyre in term performance

                        You didnt got the pun....

Inches of the rim has nothin to do with the traction of the machine buddy,so even if the RTR160 would have had 12" of rim with the same dia of tyre it would have not helped in improving the traction of the machine.

                        No it is not.
                        Period.

Compound of the tyre has lot to do with the grip, broadness- NO.

Just for the record, the R15's tyre (100 section, rear) outperforms 110 of RTR 180 and 120 section of Pulsar's (180,220)

Very True. 180's feels a lot better composed than the 160s in the handling front but it's more of related to the chassis geometry rather than the tyres. Still the 180's tyres are better somewhat as compared to the 160.

Like karkai mentioned the one-way clutch failure is related to the TCis rather than the design of the clutch as most of the people believed.

Try fitting a R15 rear tyre on a P220 or a RTR 180 for that matter. You might get 'better' outright grip while cornering but when it comes to stability then you will have to eat your words back. Trust me on this!!

More than the tyre it's the brilliant chassis geometry of the R15 which lends the bike its stellar handling abilities. Like i mentioned before the R15's tyre is just the part of the package.

Coming to the new tyre's performance. The bike has got back it's awesome handling again. Now it feels like riding on rails(like it used to) while cornering(despite the front tyre having lost more than 50% of the tread). I couldnt notice any difference except for slightly better composure while trying to scrap the footpegs. But the main litmus test would be during rains which will show the tyre's true potential. I just want it to provide better feedback during rains as compared to the TVS ones which lacked wet grip. Other than that i(along with my brother) didnt have any issues with the TVS ones during the whole 17000kms of tarmac ripping.

                              Hello all...
I've been a member for a while but haven't posted much.Anyways let me share my story with you...

My family has had a thing for TVS for some reason.Dad had an Ax-100R,then my bro got a scooty, then he bought a Fiero F2 which I inherited, then he bought a Scooty Streak for his wife and finally he bought a white Apache RTR 180 for me...Yay!.

                              So basically, the adventure begins...
                              End of First day,6th August(booked on 3rd) 50 kms...
End of second day,250 kms done total ...(took a wrong turn somewhere )
End of first week 650 kms and first service...
End of second week plus 1000 kms.... lit a cigar at 1000.2...
These two weeks were exams...And after the last exam, i crossed 1000 and then First Crash at 1020...

Oil in the middle of a corner is not pleasant. Was doing something like 52kmh...

According to some people, this bike may not be the fastest, may not be poser material etc etc.... To them I say :This bike is a f***ing drug....addictive,insane,you lose your senses and you grin from ear to ear... and you keep grinning senselessly...Try it and you will get addicted to its looks, its blue display, its growl, its handling, its pace and you will look like a happy stoned dude by the end of the ride.
In the end, I feel biking is a way to nirvana...And I've found my drug to get there....
Proud to be a RTR(Race Throttle Rider)...
