    After cleaning,use FRESH light engine oil of 20 or 30 grade to make the air filter wet,and Squeeze to let excess flow out.Now you mount the air filter in its place...and you have done a D I Y air filter cleaning and fitment..Revving the bike without airfilter for short duration is OK.But should not be for long....say more than5 to10 minutes is not good..

        I suspect my bike is running lean. I rode a friend's bike and his was way smoother and also pick up in each gear was better. The engine revved very easily compared to mine. And the vibes were very less.
        Air fuel ratio has NOTHING to do with the vibes.

        The friends bike felt smooth because it might had cleaner air filter, much better lubed chain, slack in the chain to the right level, play in the clutch to the right level, road, pressure of the air in the tires etc.

        It will make the throttle ultra crisp while making the bike sounding more deep at the same time.

          It does renny. I have made trials with it. Running lean results in more vibrations, as the ignition is not uniform. This characteristic is more dominant in single cylinders and even stronger in oversquares.
          There's lot to it other than saddle....

              even my bike has some problem with rear disk, my bike is only 4mnths - 4500kms old and i hear screech sound from rear wheel, and the break is also very weak.. i'm managing with the front break now...

                I have never experienced it in my FIERO and KB100 (which used to vibrate a lot too, at par with RTR).

                Never had a chance to play with the settings of RTR.
                But with already so much Vibes at certain RPM, i fail to get any siolution for it.

                  I have read in other forums of this happening.In fact the rear disk was worn out within 8 K kms in one case,and the owner had to change disk and pads to-gether. He was told that the rear caliper oil canister was empty,and the brake had held continuously,without pressure for braking..This had worn out both the disk and pads.The owner was asked to pay 2,500/-...Please make a SPECIFIC WRITTEN COMPLAINT to your A.S.S on this.and get it attended.The disc should not bind and wheel should rotate with little friction only.

                    i had a small accident..slight scratch on the headlight!and my bike isnt even a week old!! planning to put stickers to cover it up or is there anyway to adda tpugh up?? my bike is still in run in period and one of my friends ripped the bike to 105! is this okay? or is it going to spoil my engine and what speed should i maintain?i am maintaining about 55 kmh max sometimes i go upto 60 is this okay, but i try to keep my bike below 4 RPM...i am experiencing large amout of vibes at 48-55 kmh will these reduce after first service??? also the engine gets hot very quickly is this beacuse this is a new bike???

                      Renny thanks for taking the time to respond to the many queries. I had tried to explain based on my personal experience and of some of my friends..
                      1.Lean AFR had caused engine vibes in my Honda CX 125 twin(Now not with me),and also in my KB which I presently own.
                      2.Engine back fire has two circuits.One through the Exhaust,and the other through the intake manifold.Many have experienced the Exhaust one,and only a few have experienced the inlet type.Lean mix,and bad Valve timings(sometimes sticky valves) are the main reasons for it.
                      3. Temporary black smoke at the time of starting,with choke,is attributed to rich mix. I was explaining to a specific query .
                      4. In Petrol Vehicles, If rings are bad or if there is oil coming into the combustion chamber and getting burnt,the smoke from the Exhaust will be Blueish ...and there will be oily deposit at the Exit mouth of the Exhaust.

                      Just sharing what I have learnt till now..

                          Any high RPM running during engine setting time is not good for the engine.If the ripping had been very short time ..say for just passing another vehicle,and then slowing down then nothing to worry.Normally the setting in is done with respect to engine RPM IN ANY GEAR...which is 4,000 RPM.A new engine will get hot as its internals are rough and have not become smooth...which is why the 4 K rpm limit is mentioned.
                          Remember to mention the Vibration problem at the time you give the bike for servicing to A.S.S.

                            Renny elsewhere in another post I read that there are engine anchor bolts near the engine(small) sprocket which should be tightened for decreasing the Vibrations.It seems most of the RTR engine anchor nuts work loose due to vibes and need to be tightened periodically....Since I don't own a RTR I am unable to authenticate this statement.But I guess it is worth looking into.RTR Fi is supposed to have the least vibes of all the models.Since you own one ,what is your opinion....I am planning on buying a Apache 150 and upgrade to 180..so your input will be useful for me.

                              And good to knw another KB100 owner, it's indeed a great bike !

                              I never experienced the vibes slowing down in the KB100, but that was my experience, and i would like to add that the KB100 has the most responsive carb i ever came across.

                              I thought Back "fire" you're talkin about, RTR backfires a lot but it was FIERO which was the backfire champ...

                                RTR's vibes is in diff league !
                                i tried all, tightened things here and there but no vail.

                                FI vibrates as same as RTR carbed, may be more, it vibrates like hell between 5200-6800, and then after 7000 RPM the pillion refuses to keep his feet on the pegs.

                                I will strongly advise you to buy 180 directly !
