  • Agreed that K&N is not healthy for the engine, but I dont believe it can damage anything SO fast. Wont an engine breating through K&N last for 50k kms?

@A4D - stick with mineral for the first couple of services.

The 180 cc bore breathes for every stroke 168cc of air to 12 cc of fuel,..assuming an ideal 14:1 mix.
Stock filter at 99% efficiency allows 1.68cc of dirty air for each suction
K&N at 97% efficiency allows 5 cc of dirty air in each suction stroke .
These are ideal conditions..Actual will be much worse.

How much kms old is the plug ?

It looks carbon'd and roasted, you're running LITTLE lean.

              its just 8278km old.
when i opened it 3 months ago it was all pinkish and no black deposits

given the bike for service to cbz 1 months before may be they have done some finger with my carb.

the bike start to vibrate like hell after crossing 7k rpm.

well is it ok or i should make it rich . i think thats why i am getting good avg.

              - NO.

then i should go for a good aftermarker exhaust.

              • Concerns about RTR-160 HE

                Hi xBHPians,

I am planning to buy RTR-160 HE.
I was going through ownership reviews and found that the bike skids a lot, so am concerned about it. I am 31yrs old married person and will be using the bike to commute to office and on weekend my wife may also ride with me for a drive within city or maybe Pune to Mumbait kind of drives.
Please suggest if this bike will be ggod for me. Thanks in advance.

Looks like you are running rich AFR....judging by the DRY black coating ,and dark brown insulator color.

                  • new to XBHP I'm using A180 gray from over a year now.. its an awesome bike to own now Ive crossed 11k mark.. I'm fully satisfied wit my bike except for a few queries that i have :

                    1. I'm really unhappy with the TVS SC and hence had given to a local mech for the 4th service and i'm really happy wit my bike thereafter.. now its time for my 5th service and i want to know should i continue my service wit TVS SC or wit my mech?

2.I'm thinking to replace tyres. can i replace only rear as of now and front later sometime or i have to replace both together? and also wat tyres to go with?

Stick with TVS SC so you will not have warranty related issues later...in case you need it... Change both front and rear tires for better grip..MRF Zapper C or Q

Yes, the bike can skid since it has stock TVS tyres but only in wet conditions...TVS tyres have good grip over dry tarmac...so you will need to be careful whenever driving on wet road or even patches of the road that are wet...it had happened to me once on my A180 when i was turning on a chauraha that had a fountain and a slight wet patch ...since then i do not do sharp turning on wet road... i just drive slowly and easily in such cases

Guys....had the clutch cable replaced today...it costed me 155 rs overall including service tax and labour cost...the cable cost was Rs 107. It had broken 1 days back(4000 odd kms on the odo ) and i had to replace it with a normal clutch wire costing 30 Rs for the time being.

Please continue giving to SVC. It will save you a lot of headache later on in case of any issues which requires claming warranty. For all work other than water service :P take to a trusted outside mech.

Its better to change both tyres, but its up to you. You will get the Zapper FS for front and Zapper C for the rear, at stock sizes.

Refer to one of my posts for that thud sound its because of front fork piston pressure which is disturbed.

Motul Semi-Synthetic is really good go for it

                              • 10w40 but it is a little difficult to get and insanely expensive. The MRP is 895/- but the dealers usually give some discount.
This is the price of FS oil. No idea about the price of SS oil.
