@pranav: yes i thought of going for a repaint but i need the RTR180 stickers first..I heard the repainting done in JC road is good. I wanted to touch up the paint in my tank since i can see rust near the petrol lid. Have still not decided yet.Am in dilema whether to get my 180 painted from black to white or just touch it up where there are scratches, and i dont think the repaint will be as good as the original paint job.

I asked a tvs workshop guy to show me how these bearings are making noise..he showed me an opened cylinder head, the roller bearing has axial clearance of almost 2mm at each side-enough to make noise!
at this moment I'm convinced that roller bearing is making noise...hope this noise will disappear within 1st 2 free services as they have told me that this noise will diappear withing 1st 2-3 services..

darn it... I deleted the local copy of the details I had... sheesh...

Man, tuning a bike by counting the no. or turns of AFR screw is one of the most stupid thing to do I just get irritated whenever I see every 2nd person recommending this to others. See, optimum mixture depend on the environmental factors too. So, the no. of turns working fine for a guy sitting in Kanyakumari may not work for a guy sitting in Kashmir. I don't know, to how much extent it matters, but it does.
Tuning should be done w.r.t. the objective of getting uniform strokes of engine and for that, on has to either observe the exhaust beat or the RPM needle's stability @ around 4K RPM. Also, there's another method I know that is the headlight method. In this you set the idle RPM LOW(800-900) instead of HIGH(3K-4K) with the headlight turned ON and focused on a clear wall so that you could observe the flickering of the light on wall.
Better don't fiddle with the carb on your own if you don't have some confidence and leave it for some experienced mechie. Or you can follow the thinking of "jab tak karunga nahi to seekhunga kaise" but for this, you have to risk your bike's tuning if you can afford to do so

Got my Apache 180 ABS!!!!

Finally she is here....wait fr 1.5 years have now come to an end...!!!!

I'm not geetin how exactly ABS indicator in speedo works.Is it dat it is lit wen ABS is ON and off when ABS is OFF???

I'm yet to get my service manual....so cant refer that..

Initially when bike is started the ABS indicator blinks for few seconds..When i press the ABS switch nothing happens to that indicator....i mean indicator light light does not toggle when i press the ABS switch...

It's written in the manual that we are not supposed to press any buttons for those few seconds when the bike is switched on(i.e. when we turn the key to on and the speedo console lits up...)...
One more thing is, i guess the ABS is de activated when the speed is below 10kmph or something like that, this happens in CBR250R but i'm not sure about Apache as the functioning style of both the ABS's is very different.

Regarding the ABS indicator:

• When you switch on, the ABS light blinks continuously i.e self check is being done.
• It blinks untill you cross 10Km speed and switches off after 10Km.
• If the ABS light glows ON (i.e not blinking), then it means your ABS is OFF. Think of this as a fault indicator: if it is ON continuously, then ABS is NOT working.

If for any reason, you want to turn OFF ABS, press ABS switch for 5sec- ABS turns OFF and the light glows continuously.

Hello Guys, Can't this Document made in such a way that it is visible to anyone (but read-only) and anyone can change it but changes take effect only after some 'Admin/Owner of the Doc' approves it?

Basically the ABS light is a warning light dude. I mean it is lit up only to warn you that the ABS is off or that something is wrong with it. When it's off it means your ABS is working fine. The initial blinking goes off when you reach a speed of 5 or 10 kmph

Have updated the link so that anyone can View it. Also those who had requested the access, have granted them edit rights. Just one request to them, download a copy of it to avoid any problems.

Update: Have got My hand back!! Doc said not to ride so fast, but took a ride anyways. Bike acted just as superb as it should Even after so long being off!!
Also have updated a few pics of parts bike which suffered in the crash.
