I noticed that there was about 2 mm gap on each side of every bearing, so I believed the mechanic's words to somewhat extent...let's see the result of 1st servicing as he said this noise will disappear in next servicings...
i ignored the sound when i bought the bike because i also thought after some running it will go away and about the rpm if i want to make it stable at any point it doesn't its unstable dancing up down and one mechanic in my town said that he will correct it but i don't believe him and dude after ripping the bike do you experience some kind of increase in sound??? or a lag in bike??

yes, I have the same problem...rpm needle starts dancing when it reaches 3k mark...and in neutral gear, when engine speed suddenly rises to 5000rpm when i try to stabilize it at 3000 mark...

carb tuning is the most common suggestion from many xbhp frnds...

I'll look whether these problems get eliminated after 1st servicing..else I'll go with xbhp-frnds' suggestion..coz experience does matter..

yes dude...i also got irritated with their this reply. so i decided to irritate them. i went to service center next 3 days continuously and asked them the same questions. and on 3rd day, one guy finally showed me the opened cylinder head and also demonstrated how those bearings were making noise..he said if this clearance is not maintained, then bearings will not work properly..
I'm confused...do i have to listen this noise everyday??
              I have ridden my frnd's rtr160, she didn't have such noise..den what's wrong with 180???

                    nope..it's RTR180 non-ABS...

But everything is same in these bikes except ABS unit..dat's why basic problems are common in these two...

hey, i 'used' to service my ride from them. they are kinda ohhk with their job but make sure u are there at the service centre when they are working on ur bike.
one issue is they tend to overcharge and change things when not necessary. believe me i have had a bad experience with them

the clearance should be there but it should be .06 mm at the inlet and .08mm at the exhaust. check drifty's DIY. you'll get the hang of it! get it adjusted from a trusted mechanic!

and for the unstable rpm thing, check for the faulty choke cable, mine had gone kaput!
also air filter cleaning, carb tuning, accelerator cable , faulty tappet clearance can be other issues!

I was talking about axial clearance of bearings not tappets..i think u have mentioned clearance of tappets...

about rpm thing, I will sure check the choke cable for any fault..but my bike is just 7 days old dude...don't think she will have other issues...thanks for the choke cable suggestion..

actually, i found it very easy to start bike in the morning without using choke than starting it using choke..
but don't know why manufacturers recommend to use choke while cold starting the bike...
