It's not a problem with the bike. Up-shifting to 2nd gear perfectly is not easy at the beginning and takes more time and practice. Nothing to worry. Just give little more push to the gear lever.Originally posted by jude.manutd View Post

can 180 's speedo asembly be retrofitted in 160?and where can i get those rtr sticker on the air scoops?and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

Hey guys, I bought the bike yesterday. I'm loving every bit of it. (coming from a P180 UG3). Just two queries:
1. The proper procedure for running-in? So far completed 80kms, keeping the rpm under 4.5k, just two short bursts(20-30 secs) of 6-7k. I know i'm not supposed to, but how much can i do without affecting the engine much? :P
2. I'm thinking about replacing the tires right now. Can you guys suggest me any economical option that will offer better grip? (preferably 120 at the rear)
Expect to keep listening from me as i discover Apache.

Cost of spare part ?
Today i did a very stupid thing by dropping my bike. The bike slipped of its side stand and the rear side part ( please see image ) got damaged by cracking like an egg shell, cos it hit a stone ( very unlucky.. ). It felt bad as if my ribs got cracked...
I want to replace the panel immediately. Does anyone have an idea how much will it cost and whether it will take time.. ??

The side panel costs INR 533 here in KL. Part nos for matt grey are
Cover SeatTail L+Tapeset T-Grey N92201308DC
Cover SeatTail R+Tapeset T-Grey N92201408DC
I think just the letters at the end changes for other colors. Available as one side only at the dealer I took the bike from.
Changing it is a little cumbersome though, if you are DIY. I've posted few pics some pages back.

Haha, yeah its hard to control your nerves when you have this bike in your hands but you shouldn't do that often. Try NOT doing it again and keeping it under 4-4.5K RPM for the first 1000kms.Originally posted by makjack View PostHey guys, I bought the bike yesterday. I'm loving every bit of it. About the rubber, the R15's rubber at the front and as you asked for a 120 then Zapper Vyde for the rear will be a good combo IMO.

hi people i just completed my running in period and have also been reading alot of the apache ownership posts and i wanted to ask should i change my engine oil now to another brand....i have learnt that for the 1st 5k kms it should be mineral oil and then semi-synthetic and 10k onwards synthetic....but should i change now or stick to tvs??will it void warranty if i do so??also please suggest a good brand of oil..

@jude.manutd : I guess gasket is the culprit here....
Its advisable to change gradually. Yes TVS will say that it would void the warranty (here they do). People have different opinion for diff brands, but I am still using the TVS Tru4, Motul is good too.
@ALL : R.I.P my piston rings
