I really like angel eye setup but can we arrange it without projector lamp. Is that possible ? If so provide me the link with details on HID images to have an idea about it. Thanks.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Thanks for the details dude. BTW yesterday I contacted the service engineer of TVS SVC and asked him about this. He too suggested to go for metallic/brass ones & said the currently they have only the rubberized ones which might not go well with old RTR's. He asked me to check in Hero/ Pulsar SVC for the same. I went to nearby Hero SVC but they too dont have. Later I found a genuine two wheeler parts shop and showed them the pick. The person there named it Tubeless neck. Wonder how differently people name itOriginally posted by julianpaul View PostSorry, forgot to mention the tubeless valve part number, only remembered when Satish mentioned it.
Btw, I couldn't get it at my svc, they had a right-angled valve for scooters but not the bike one.N9112880 VALVE TUBELESS
Hey Satish ! Good to hear from you too.
I almost got a cage last monsoon, but somehow held on...
I've always been lurking, but mostly the 160 forum, figured i'd contribute when really needed. You know, like the batman...

Can someone with access to an open rim check if the valve hole is .453" or .625" ?
. There was no stock with him and he said it will cost around 150 bucks. Anyway today I will try to buy from him if stocks available.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I wouldn't consider any bike under 250cc an upgrade, and especially a single cyl. But since you mentioned the budget, i think the pulsar 200 variants are very good vfm. I personally really like the 200ns. the rs is over-stickered. as looks kinda half here half there.Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostI need to pick up a bike again. I also had similar situation, oil level used to decrease after 1000 kms even if i rode sane. There were no leaks, no trace of oil in the exhaust and no smoke. The culprit were valves, the exhaust valve was in bad condition and i was also facing loss in performance and mileage, and oil level droped around 100 - 200 ml after 1000 - 1500 kms.
This happened at 30k kms on odo.

No, I'm not facing any loss in performance at the moment.
In my case in city riding, the oil level is constant for even 2500km but during highway rides of 250+ km in a day, maintaining 90-100 kmph, there is a drop of 100-200ml.. So I am suspecting that due to excess heat, oil is getting evaporated. Need to test with another engine oil..
Once you changed the exhaust valve, problem was solved? And what kind of performance loss were you facing?
Edit: Mileage is 40+ in city and highway.. And no signs of oil consumption either.

Well then the weather is to blame, the excessive heat does evaporate the oil.Originally posted by Abishek94 View PostNo, I'm not facing any loss in performance at the moment.

If plan on shifting to full synthetic and dont want togo for thicker grade, i'd suggest you to try Mobil1 racing 10w40.
The valves were replaced like 2 weeks ago, so cant say much but yes the motor now feels relaxed, doesn't feel and sound rough and sound from the head is completely gone. Mileage is also good now.
Acceleration had become less, the engine felt stressed and rough, mileage had also gone down and the bike refused to pull at times.
After the valves were replaced everything got smooth and i can feel the bike performing better.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I'm not sure Prateek.
Do you know anyone who has opened the carb and seen the nos printed on the jets? That would provide clarity.

What is the size of the pilot and main jets?
I think there is wrong info provided in the online manual.
Hoping for confirmation from owners.
Anyone can help out with this info, guys?Ride it like you stole it! But buy your own helmet.

hey Mate, i am planning on selling my 6 months/3k kms covered Apache rtr 180.

I am an avid biker and I have followed the run-in, engine changes and the services to the T.
If you are interested, PM me.

Hello!
So, I am an Apache RTR 180 ABS owner. I have had this bike for 6 months/3k Kms as of now.
A friend of mine is selling his CBR250R STD version that is close to a year old and has covered 5k kms for 1Lakh rupees.
Can you please let me know if this is a good deal and if I should consider this?
I need to sell my Apache first to go ahead with this.
I really and totally love my ABS beast but I feel that at 1L , the 250R is a deal too too good to turn down.
If someone can elaborate on the Pro's and Con's of this move, it would be very beneficial.
Thanks in advance

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hi Raman. If the bike is well maintained then go ahead. Why is he selling his cbr for such a low price. That sounds suspicious. Do test ride it properly. Build up the revs , redline it just once to see if the bike is good enough or it has some problems. Do check the oil level & look for scratches. If all is well then go ahead.
If you are ready to sustain the increase in running cost of the cbr then it is very much fine. Your mileage will be in the region of 25-30.
Pro's
You will the love the power & the refinement as you are coming from our tribe.
U can tour at high speeds with ease & enjoy it with a pillion also.
Honda's are mostly very much reliable. Apart from the regular services there would not much of a problem.
Cons
You will surely miss the abs.
There will be an increase in your running cost & services as compared to apache.Last edited by Mr_Many_Places; 06-12-2015, 11:23 PM.TVS Apache RTR 180 (2014 - ….)

well, he is selling the bike due to personal reasons and really needs the money.
Yes, i am planning on a proper and long test drive to basically test out if something breaks at the higher rev range.
thinking about the pro's and con's -
- I can live with the reduced mileage.
- I feel the CBR is an amazing and underrated tourer, and I really want to go touring at ease. But Pratik and the others do so much on their Apache itself!
- The lack of ABS is my biggest drawback. I had waited 4 months just to get my Apache ABS as i wanted no other bike but one with ABS.
that said, i still think this is too good an opportunity to let pass if all the pieces fall in place.
lets see how it goes

My brother has a CBR 250R Repsol edition. He doesn't ride it much so you can consider it mine.Originally posted by Mr_Many_Places View PostPro's

If you ride sane, you will get 35 kmpl and personally i dont like how the power builds up but having said that, i do agree its a great bike for touring.
I am planning to upgrade to N300 by next year. Hope that everything goes well
