Change it. If your running is low, IMO, use Mineral oil.Originally posted by suj View PostGuys..I have filled my rtr with motul 7100 20w50 ,7 months back and only covered 1000kms , do I need to change oil irrespective of kms covered or can I continue with same oil for few more monthsThe real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Guys, it's been more than a year now since I've had my RTR160. I handed it in for service recently. It's done 10.5 k kilometers, and I can assure that everything is working as it should, except for the headlamps.
Before this particular service, my RTRs front headlamp assembly had loosened and I rode it that way for close to a week (I only noticed it when the rattling got really really bad because I wear earplugs all the time) before I got it fixed at the SVC. The nut had loosened and it only had to be tightened back.
After this service (almost as soon I got it in fact), I went for a long ride from Mysore to Kushalanagra (80kms). Everything was crisp, the response was great, I had no problems with engine braking. Apart from the drum brake spring that snapped on the way back from KN, the only major problem I faced was with the headlights.
I must say that the headlights seemed perfectly bright before the service. But on the ride back, it didn't seem as bright (neither in low beam nor in high beam mode) as before the service. I took it back to the SVC, and the guy checked everything and said it was fine. A couple of days later, I'd been around the Ring Road during night and I still felt it wasn't as bright. Especially when in high beam, I constantly have to put my hand in front of the headlights to see if it's alit or not.
Yesterday, while I was fiddling with the beam switch out of frustration on the highway, the switch was at the midway point where the lamp gets noticeably brighter (as bright as it used to be before, in fact) and I was wondering if the SVC could've messed up with the wiring by any chance. I don't want to go back to them again. Is there any sample wiring diagram or something I could compare it to perhaps?
Also, in the earlier pages of this thread, Aparajith and julianpaul were talking about headlights (I read it long back, don't remember if it's even this thread) and was wondering if anything above 35/35W were allowed for bikes, and if so, would fixing it to the RTR cause any problems in the short future.

AMotoVlogs : Get the switch checked if its bright in the middle position of that.
Anything above 35watt will drain out the battery until you go for full DC conversionFare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Its a fully synthetic oil & i think it will last longer even if its sparingly used. Check for signs like harsh engine & hard gearshifts . If it is there go for an oil change or else continue with that till you notice these signsOriginally posted by suj View PostGuys..I have filled my rtr with motul 7100 20w50 ,7 months back and only covered 1000kms , do I need to change oil irrespective of kms covered or can I continue with same oil for few more monthsTVS Apache RTR 180 (2014 - ….)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
In continuation to my previous post on buying tubleless tire neck/valve/nozzle/convertor (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...ml#post1155309), I bought a new valve neck as shown in the attachment below. It costed around 150rs. After that I went straight to MRF dealer and fit the Zapper FY1 (90/80-17) front tires.
Also as per this post (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...ml#post1155930), rubberized tubeless valves are used for vehicles already having tubeless tires, which is one of the main reason why TVS SVC have stocks of them rather than the brass/metallic type. The metallic/brass types are used for people whose stock setup is TT & to convert to TL tires, they need these type of valves.
Will share my feedback on 90/80-17" Zapper FY1 front TL tire & Meteor 100/90-18" TT rear tire setup (which is my current setup) after some 50-100km of riding.---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Guys i need suggestion. What will be best rim sticker color for my black RTR-hyperedge?
I have tried red. I wanna change to some other one. But thought of getting some valuable suggestions from you all before finalizing on one.
It will be great if some of u can share some pics if you have made some funky design patterns on the rims (irrespective of the ride).---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180 sticker job
Folks,
I tried some sticker job on my Black RTR 180 (I had this in my mind even before buying. I liked black version more than wte but even that was bit bland). It is a temporary thing for now, done with simple white printer paper and glue-stick. Have a look. I like it. However The final version is likely to have strips of half the width (so that the width is same as those on the rims) and it will be reflective white paper which will not be snow white like this and will give added safety for the Black bike.

@susheelkumar : I had my alias name written on my bike's rim in reflective white. Something like this where 1000 is writtenOriginally posted by susheelkumar View PostGuys i need suggestion. What will be best rim sticker color for my black RTR-hyperedge?

Cool. So its easy to spot you then.Originally posted by prateek2210 View Post@susheelkumar : I had my alias name written on my bike's rim in reflective white. Something like this where 1000 is written
I also wanted the rim stickers to be a thick one. The current ones are thin. I hope white will go well considering the above post pics.---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Thicker looks too much imo. You can have it , if you find that good. Have something likes this. It makes it look like, the bike is at much faster speed.Originally posted by susheelkumar View PostCool. So its easy to spot you then.
