Nice video, but how you recorded it??
Were you double or you put the camera inside the helmet and the visior was holding that for you??

          And why in Night?
          Why not in a day?

Around 6k rpm.It was the only time when the bike pulled like MAD in first gear. It's sad that i am not able to repeat the same during drags!!

I recorded it very much like i had recorded previous videos by placing the cam inside the helmet resting near my chin.During night that road has less traffic, that's why and also during night time it looks cool!!

              • Like renny told Fi is more fuel efficient than 180 and gives 60 - 65 kmpl if riding in 4000-5000
What mileage will RTR 180 gives if you ride between 4000 - 5000
When approaching a corner, stay on the gas until you see Jesus. Then brake HARD.

It returns just about 50kmpl if i ride it at 4k-5k rpm.I dont think it would go beyond 55kmpl.

                    • So which bike should i buy 160 fi or 180, i am really very confused ..
As for now i am having Rx 135 so mileage of 45+ will be great for me
Renny's link provided good amount of info, but still would like to hear more from you guys, as i don't want to regret later.
I have good trust on TVS machine cz before Rx 135 i owned Fiero and it was good bike.
Guys it would be great if you can tell me more about which one is better RTR 160 fi or RTR 180

                      • I liked the performance of the 180, but the sound of the FI is much better and is very fuel efficient. Buy the FI if you want good performance, mileage, better sound. I also was stuck between these two bikes but I eventually took the 180 home. 18900kms and no regrets. Doing the servicing on km basis, bike is about 3 and half months old, I get about a little above 800kms on a full tank, no fairing rattle or that squeaky sound from the brakes, only using semi synthetic 20W40 from Total. The vibes are not like before when the bike was new, and I haven't had to replace anything till now except for the spark plug at 10000kms and the oil filter at each servicing.

@ chicane - what cam are you using, is it a cell phone cam? And if you put the camera inside the helmet can you see the road properly? And wont the cam slip down the helmet and drop on the road? Please explain how you mount the cam in like step by step cause I also want to shoot some onboard videos. I get to ride a GSXR 1000 on tuesdays to work and back.

RTR180 costs less than the FI and is more hoot to drive, PLUS you can fiddle with the carb for more performance too.
Go buy it, end of discussion.

                              +1 for that!

I was more in favour of the 160FI when I was looking at the Apaches and when I went to the showroom I test rode both the FI and 180. The 160FI has a better exhaust note and of course comes with FI but the 180 clearly handled better and that's what I bought in the end. I also liked the rear fender on the 180 which looks quite cool.

The increase in engine capacity of the 180 comes mainly from a longer stroke so the 180 engine is more torquey all over the rpm range. The longer swingarm and 17" wheels with tubeless tyres also improve the stability and handling.

If you're looking for performance the 180 is slightly better than 160FI and if its mileage you're looking for then probably the 160FI is slightly better.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

dude, is that a typo? 18900kms in 3.5 months!!

I own a RTR fi, but given a chance now, i would go for RTR 180. but u cant beat the mileage of a fi (something to console myself)
