    • Had to change the rear tyre from Zapper S to Zapper C. Was having problems with the stability after changing from 110/80 to 100. But now its fine.
You can only ride better tomorrow if you ride safe today.

      • I'm also going to change the tyres very soon.. how is the grip level in the wet? Did you change the front one too? I came across a 110/70-17 tyre but it's written "for front use only" Zapper C is what size?

        • Did a mileage test, rode at 4-4.5k rpm during a trip to Cuttack and got a just about 50kmpl. I did rip the bike for some 2 kms redlining and riding in triple digit speeds so i think the mileage is satisfactory!!

For the front shocks sound.. at next service ask them to check fork oil level... might need top up... And make sure you check its resolved by riding around before you take delivery...

Rear disc getting hot is normal... and yes, it does not have that much bite as the front... Hey, think it this way... thats what saves you wheel locking up... also, you must have felt that its quite effective when compared to drum brakes in other bikes...

Also, pushing the bike up the rev range at times is ok... you'd get a feel of the 'ghost's power... but let me warn you.. its quite addictive... If you are like me, you'll start doing that often, and then finally end up riding all the time at those rpms...

Make that great!!!!! 50kmpl from a 17PS power bike is dream.

Take the needle all way to 10000RPM now, squeeze out all the 17 PS and enjoy the power, you're done with running in now.

and one thing i use both the breaks almost 90% but rear disc gets hot much more earlier then the front one and still rear disc is soft in breaking any help i thought some rubbing of break pads?

The rear disc gets faded pretty fast and that too so much that after a repeated set of twisties it'll turn numb, and so much that it'll make you feel you're out of pads now, the rear is a mild biting unit but has enough "feel" and performance for our day to day rides,
rubbing the pads wont do you any good as you just cant make them rough enough, as they'll get smoothen out after 1 km of breaking.

                    • I've a small doubt ..

Last time when i was cruising to find the max.speed.The bike only clocked 126kmph...But then I was riding without RVMs..
Now,Does the RVM help in better stability and cutting air drag?...
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

Yes i changed both the tyres. The front one is Zapper FS and the rear one is Zapper C currently. One advice to people looking to change their tyres, down go down on the stock size. Try to stick to the stock size or if thats not available then go for a 120/80. Nothng more than that.

That's just cuz because in your mind you have a point that you've downsized, nothing in reality as such.

The RTR has not gone through wind tunnel testing while in the stage of development, the RVM contributes 0% in channeling the air.

Never go for 120/80, it'll be tad too broad and will look out of proportion, it'll also put dent on acceleration, efficiency and top speed.

No i dont think so. I didnt change the rear tyre again just because it was all in my mind that the bike has lost stability due to downsizing from the stock size. It really had lost a lot of straight line stability and that was clearly evident when i rode it in narrow lanes with a pillion at low speeds. Even another friend of mine pointed out this thing after he rode my bike on the Zapper S. Otherwise i would have never spent another 1600 for a new tyre having changed the tyres merely two weeks back.
And as far as the 120/80 section goes, the minor loss in acceleration isnt noticable at all. I wont be racing on the track that a mere loss of half a second or even less on acceleration will affect me in a huge way. And as far as i know if the acceleration goes down, the top speed will increase. Same funda applies while re-sprocketing. Fuel efficiency, no comments yet.

But obviously i would any day suggest sticking to the stock size if you can get a fair replacement. I had to upsize because i didnt have any other option here in my city.

thanks for replying will check oil level and yes rear break is great i check with drum breaks in other bikes "pushing up the rev range?" means should rev till redline? run in DONE?
