No, it will not create any warranty issues. Show your bike to a good mechanic(if you know somebody) and ask him to open up the carb and clean up the individual jets and tune it properly. That should solve the hiccups.

Try to correct the hiccup problem with an "experienced" mechanic. Dont tell the SVC guys that you have done so outside

The rear fender can be assembled by yourself if you have time else take it to those guys.

          • hey guys after the heavy rain that day bike is saying no to do the self check! "N" light is off after turn on the key. Kick Start Working but after engine starts then self check and horn is 25% & when you do upper dipper all electronics shuts off sudden not engine then self start again
i read the above post which is posted but then mine is something different that day RPM goes to 12000 RPM and then came to "0" bike was at 63 kmph
shut down i did shut down the engine and ignition again works fine
still not solved the self check Prob What will be the prob
just after 7 months i think bike is not constant performer like R15 or Fi
after cleaning the Carb (3rd service) still no smooth powerband between
            2500 to 4000 RPm
            What to do
            Running on Motul 300V 10w40
I think one of the Best Oil for bikes
may be thats why Yamaha price tag is higher then RTR 180
or may be i am wrong

Inductive ignition is NOT the same as capacitive ignition (CDI).

Inductive ignition gives out longer sparks but of lower peak voltage. Thus a leaner fuel mixture can be easily burnt. But, it is sensitive to voltage.

CDI spark on the other hand has very high voltage (more than what is needed to fire any mixture) but the spark does not last that long. It has some "reserve" voltage and hence can be used over any spark plug conditions and is robust - the plug WILL fire. IDI can not give this guarantee at lower voltages.

AFAIK hence the sprag clutch issue, where a slight voltage drop affect the spark strength and the mixture may not fire when required. (Speculation really! )

Read the post thoroughly. Its well explainatory.

                    Exactly.

And you are right, the CDIs and IDIs are completely different units.

So do you mean to say that setting higher idling rpm will hamper the one-way clutch's operation. If that is the case, then why only RTR 180 faced this problem including the initial batch of P220 DTSi's!!

Bajaj quickly replaced the ignition units with recalibrated ones in order to avoid this issue. The initial batch of P220s did have this issue.

                      service guys have already replaced
                      spark plug
                      spark plug adapter
                      cdi
their was another coil (i forgot the name )

The issue is still not fixed , they r going to call the senior engineer to the service center to examine my bike on Tuesday ..............

At which svc centre do you service your bike.

If you run out of options, then i would ask you to head straight to ZEN TVS, Bull Temple Road.(I am not sure if it's still operational or not). Contact Joel for more info.
