Inductive ignition gives out longer sparks but of lower peak voltage. Thus a leaner fuel mixture can be easily burnt. But, it is sensitive to voltage.

CDI spark on the other hand has very high voltage (more than what is needed to fire any mixture) but the spark does not last that long. It has some "reserve" voltage and hence can be used over any spark plug conditions and is robust - the plug WILL fire. IDI can not give this guarantee at lower voltages.

AFAIK hence the sprag clutch issue, where a slight voltage drop affect the spark strength and the mixture may not fire when required. (Speculation really! )
    Thanks for adding...

Wait for the service engineer to check your bike and then take a call.

      • Update!!

The Hiccups have again re-appeared. The rear wheel feels more jammed.

Now this is what the rear tyre looks like now after covering just over 14k kms. While riding on slightly undulating roads the rear feels unsettled just as if it's running low on pressure

        Compared with a newer bike.

Some more pics shot during our last BBSR xBhp Meet.

That applies to the 160s tyres.

From my experience i feel the 180 has slightly softer compound.

But still they aren't that soft to get fcuked at 14k's...

Also take into account that it is a 17" tyre, so more rotations as compared to a 18 incher for similar distance covered.

Later when i questioned my brother, he said he did a burnout once for matter of seconds.Nothing more.

And yeah, you are right about the braking part. The bike is ripped to the core by both of us. The rear brake pads are calling for replacement but we wont be changing it. It still has got some bite(too much bite from rear is unnecessary).

Any idea about the reason behind the rear wheel not moving freely.

                    1. Check the slackness of the chain, may be the dickhead from the service centre has tightened it more than necessary.

                    2. Wash the chain throughoutely with water using cloth, the rains may have painted them with mud and dirt, hence killing the freeness, then lube each rollers.

                    3. Spray superbly high pressure water to the pads.

Will go for the ones which come as a standard fitment on the CB Dazzler.

                              • I was all set to buy the rtr180..but after going through this thread and looking at the array of problems this bike has I am less convinced to buy it ...especially that persistent "hiccup" problem that every rtr has...so guys as owners your advice..are these problems really that bad... would you advise buying the bike or should i reconsider.....
P.S: Mods, I thought this was the right thread to post this question since all the rtr owners can have their say..please move if not appropriate
