i started my bike today @ 530 am and the delicious open roads made me open the bike to full throttle on a cold engine...is it advisable to run full throttle on a cold engine just after a morning start??Originally posted by sri.vaibhav View Postyes ! there is no harm.
What the hell!! Would you guys run as if a devil is after you right after a 10 hours sleep when there is no need to??
No offence!
Take it slow for first 3-4 or 5kms when you start the day. Remember, foreplay is very important!!
Once the engine is nice and warm/hot, you can start playing with the throttle!!

Amazingly put up. Even a non-biker/newbie would easily understand this simple and dignified procedure.Originally posted by Makky View Post

it is obvious that you will loose pickup and the engine will tend to haet up fast and will make you think that its a Splendour because the oil you have poured is of grade 15w50 which is a more dense oil,it happened with me also but get it changed it after 1000km.change to grade X x 40 not X x 50.Originally posted by ameyashogun View PostHey guys after changing to semi synthetic (motul 5100 4 T 15w50) i feel a lose in pickup and gear change is more hard some times shifts back to previous gear and noisy gear box. tappet sound is there always don't want to discuss on that

Fcuk the TVS tyres man, good to hear that you're all ok.Originally posted by lijok View PostI became yet another victim of TVS tyres when I had a 80+kmph get-off on the highway in the early hours of today. there was a slight drizzle some 5 mins earlier, and I was beginning to lean into a long curve, which I always take at full speed full lean, when the bike just slipped away under me. With the grace of God, and thanks to my gear, I'm pretty ok with only a small bruise/rash at the right hip. The bike skidded some distance and has few broken and bend parts. Other than it also fine. I rode it back home
, it was at 2AM what else could I do... hehe. And I had planned to change the tyres before the rain. No more waiting. This weekend I'm getting new tyres for ma 180, ANYTHING other than TVS!
For the front two tyres are the bst for RTR, in 90/90 the tyre from the 220DTS-I and in 100 Spec the tyre from the fazer.Originally posted by julianpaul View PostDamn! The front gave way!!?? Must have been really scary. And it's the better of the two. It's usually the rear that gives on wet roads first. Good thing you're ok though. Sad part is this could have been avoided simply by using better tyres. Go change them already. The tubeless zapper fs off the 220 dtsi is probably the best for the front. Rear, why not go for the zapper-c from the pulsar? it's 10mm wider but a damn good all round tyre. And if you decide to downsize to 100/90 you will have a lower profile and better performance. Rear will look skinny though. With all the shortages and shit, it might be a longish wait for the dazzler's rear. At least change the front immd. Monsoon's expected to hit kerala around may 30th.
For rear ZApper Q anyday.
get your clutch play set.Originally posted by ameyashogun View PostHey guys after changing to semi synthetic (motul 5100 4 T 15w50) i feel a lose in pickup and gear change is more hard some times shifts back to previous gear and noisy gear box. tappet sound is there always don't want to discuss on that

the kat kat sound from the non lube applied chain is normal, you dont hear while riding cuz of the engine noice.!!!!

Anyways if you are looking for semi-synthetic try to search for Super Swift or Shell in Semi-Synthetics.If you are looking for mineral then Elf Moto4 Gold, Gulf Pride 4t and Motul 3000 4T are good bets.My bike has crossed 12k kms and i havent experienced any brake fades or drop in fluid levels. Don't touch it if everything works fine.

Keep me updated abt the tyres!
i read For all RTR Its recommend to use SAE 20W-40 , and if v use 15w40 engine oils means what will the effect, will it increase performance of engine and engine life ........

Yes you can use 10/15W 40 oil in the RTR. The later digits in the 'x'W'X' is what you should be careful of.The initial digits can be anything. Also i have read somewhere that lower the initial digits better is the performance. It was some international forum so may be they are talking about multicylinder SBKs, but still we are talking about engine only, right!!Originally posted by bamirthampr View Posti read For all RTR Its recommend to use SAE 20W-40 , and if v use 15w40 engine oils means what will the effect, will it increase performance of engine and engine life ........
