In most CV carbs the slide comes with Moly antifriction coating, which is blackish in color. The slide area facing the intake is the first to loose the coating due to inlet suction...this will appear as pits..if you are referring to this then it is ok...the picture of slide you had posted is dark and I could not read it..please try to post a bright and clear pic ,so I can understand what you are referring to.Originally posted by Drifty View PostWhen Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

@all: Theres some sound coming from my petrol tank when i ride my bike . Took it to a local mech and found the problem was due to the float. He meddled with the metal rod and tried to fix it by bending but it still doesnt work.
Now after bending the metal rod i get the sound when i drive in poth holes..
Is there a way this can be fixed or the entire float has to be replaced?
If so what will be the price..
Please help .

Yes,the pitting marks are seen on the intake side. Will try to post a clear pic of the valve.

Are you referring to the fuel filter inside the tank attached to the fuel cock?

Check with the engine mount bolts and the coneset for the handlebar vibes if they're loose .It isnt harmful as Garry said,There is slightly more clearance left on the new engine for proper mating of the parts, hence the tappet noise.Nothing to worry about, you can adjust the clearance after some 6-7k kms or so.The bolts to tighten are the foundation bolts on the left side of the engine, sorry dont have any pic of that.Originally posted by jude.manutd View Postthe noise usually comes above 55kms and in the city i rarely get open roads to go so fast but the vibes are bad....can you post some pictures of which bolts to tighten so that i can try it on my own first. The svc people are very fussy here.

@Drifty: No underneath the tank there is black cover which has four screws. This cover is connected to the green wire cap(while removing the tabk we disconnect this wire) which indicates the fuel level in the digital meter. The fuel level is determined by a float attached inside the tank. Its not the fuel filter.

Ok I got it,the green cap wire connected to the fuel sensor under the tank on the black plate.Seems replacing it with a new one is the only solution!Originally posted by mpasanthosh View Post@Drifty: No underneath the tank there is black cover which has four screws. This cover is connected to the green wire cap(while removing the tabk we disconnect this wire) which indicates the fuel level in the digital meter. @Drifty: Will get it replaced
Am not sure if the TVS SVC guys have a spare. Its really annoying to drive with some thing knocking inside the tank.
@shoeb2015: Yes it hits the tank. You can see the Metal Rod im talking about when you open the tank lid and look towards the left.
Check it out in sunlight its kinda golden in colur and difficult to figure out in the darkness.Last edited by mpasanthosh; 01-25-2012, 02:49 PM.

I had posted earlier about the TPS problem(like the petrol is not flowing into the engine FOR 1-2 seconds),wanted to replace it but the mechanic insisted that he would adjust the TPS and it would be all fine.It was fine, but now the problem is back, though it is less than what it was earlier.Should i now replace the TPS?Apache RTR 180 2011 | Honda Activa 2010 | CBZ Xtreme 2010 (1 month) |Apache 160 FI 2009-2010
