The front break pads can be replaced at an interval of 20K kms.
But the rear needs to be replaced within 8K kms.Even though you think you are putting more pressure on front break more, you are unconcious about your legs pushing the rear break pedal more often. It happens.
@PcGamer: Dont worry about your plates, they are absolutely fine.Do some break bleeding and pad cleanings,u will be allright.Last edited by sambit; 06-30-2012, 02:24 PM.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

RTR breaks
Guyzz after dhaba went home and came back in some hours. The distance was over 100 kms and I encountered two occasions when fools ran infront. Once a bicycle and once a car, at both times I break very confidentially and tires were really screaming for life. I am really sure on my 160 which was not having rear disc wouldn't be able to stop this well. Rear disc really shines.|| My Doc says bhp is directly proportional to testosterone. Worn out disc plates..

Good question. The crates are nothin but the lining that are prominently visible on this disc plate. The thicker these lines, the worse the situation is. The plate looks more like a saturn's ring, which has started to worn out. That indicates the replacement of the same. Hope its clear now..

The real fun with ABS starts when u break so hard that the suspension is pushed an inch on front. Feel the rythm. You gotta love it. I always do it kissing the bumper of any cars ahead of me. Make sure you know the exact distance by inches before you attempt this..Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostWas confidently braking late, initially i was looking stupid with bike as i used to brake early & used to stop 10ft away from Cars on Signals, then i realized this brakes are awesome & then late braking starts...

20k
!!!! Never should this be done. Irrespective of how we drive, we need to replace it atleast at 6-7k front and 8-10k rear. This helps delay the worn out of plates. As i've explained earlier, the depth of the lining around the plates increases as the used pads start rubbing harder. Keep the standard replacement time frame and keep discs smiling.

Would there been a same performznce if the road had oil spilled ?? i saw 2 bikes skidding on oil patch and they were hurt badly!! And similarly car was able to get through , don't know whether the car had an ABS or not, but din't skid at all. NOw the Question is, would ABS helped a RTR or CBR on that oil patch?? won't these bike have skid ?? How much does a 2 wheeler ABS is trustable in such situation. One senior technically sound person said that a mature rider won't need an ABS but still it's nice to have a safety feature!!! Water and gravels are little different from oil.Originally posted by shiwaan View PostABS
