After all you are still rolling on TVS supper slick tyres..Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostWell checked air pressure kept front 28psi & back 32 psi....Still gripping isnt that good..., somehow while riding at higher speed on wet road i am feeling bit comfortable with rear brakes, Tyres & cornering but i can feel the discomfort-ness when trying to go fast initially (accelaration) on front Tyre... might be because i have added 3-4 psi more in front Tyre ...
But higher air pressure makes the bikes handling a bit better..
Riding fast in rain is not a good idea..Originally posted by shiwaan View Postyou might be rite we just have to try then but ridding fast in rain is not a good option more tyre pressure tyre will be more hard cornering will be good i agree but the grip on road will be less and while braking we will be getting less contact area and and it will increase the chance of skidding

Yes, the braking eff. will drop, but not that drastically.. & yes, less contact area, but MIGHT NOT increase skidding..
Yes, bikes have a curved profile.. But if u reduce the air pressure, the curve profile will become a flat..Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostThis is what i got from that Article (Ride Safe)
For riding in the rain here are some thoughts that can help:
Road grip : If your tyre is old, or you are facing big issues with road grip, a temporary solution is to lower the tyre pressure slightly (5-6 psi will do) to get better grip till you can replace the tyre.
we have got some conflicting suggestions here.
while Prince(xBhpian) Saying this :-
earlier, i too used to think that decreasing the tyre pressure help increase the tyre grip, but after reading a few articles on the internet about hydroplanning and tyre traction, i now think that increasing the pressure a bit might actually increase the grip.
also i have read in articles that hydroplanning generally happens with cars and that too with less air pressure, since bike tyres have a curved profile, there are negligible chances of hydroplanning.
expert, help here.
As you cant predict when your tyre is "OLD", it is better to keep the pressure under control..
PS:- Try riding with more psi , but be careful till you get used to it..
If you feel it is good continue with higher psi, if not follow TVS's psi

28 for front is bit too much. Nothing more than 26 is required. If you ride solo for most of the time, 30 for rear is good enough.
Too high air pressure will make the ride bumpy.PHP Code:Will Reduce air pressure to 2-3 Psi now :)

So its only applicable when you have a worn out set of tires that have lost its tread or its tread pattern is horrible that it no longer can channel the water out and this happens when you are moving at high speeds. So under normal conditions hydroplaning doesnt happen. This is what i understood. Please correct me if wrong.

All i can say is since our stock tires are very bad in wet conditions, i would suggest you to drive slowly during the rains and be cautious....
Whatever be the tire pressure, if you rear loses out on you.. you will be on the road
So be careful and enjoy your ride

To be very honest to you, ABS is awesome in wet too, that was the only thing which gave me confidence to drive at 50 in that heavy rain, every time i used to get feeling of discomfirtness while taking a sharp turn or overtaking vehicle i used to slow down, Brakes work awesome, only if you tries to bend/angled bike little or too much you will feel the rear Tyre loosing grip, sometime i felt like its .5 or 1cm above the ground
, but ABS Works awesome without Doubt ... (Personally Experienced 7-10 Times in wet Road)

My friend is having TVS Apache RTR 160. Recently his battery went dead. I suggested him to go for amaron, want to know does it fit well/properly in Apache's stock battery box? or need any kind of modifications to the stock battery box?
I switched to amaron probiker battery on my ZMA, but it wasnt a proper fit for battery box of ZMA, as its(Amaron Probiker Battery) a bit bigger than the stock battery, therefore needed to do some modification for battery box of ZMA.
And what current should he go for? 9Ah?
Thanks in advance

Owners please let me know, is there any way to change Headlight/Bulb whatever, without voiding warranty ? what if i changed my Headlight bulb ? I usually ride in night time (60%), & this yellow light isn't very good in those time, adding to that my daily routes 8-12km road got no street lights & also single lane road without a divider or anything so i am struggle a bit when heavy vehicle with high beam comes in front of me while taking a turn, there light beams are very high that i can't able to see curve end properly....
So i Want to change to something which is Much Bright & Focused on road mainly so that it wont trouble passing vehicle from opposite side of road...

Only way to improve the headlight is to go for a 55w bulb or HID, and for either of these to work properly you need to mod/add - which will void warranty.Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostOwners please let me know, is there any way to change Headlight/Bulb whatever, without voiding warranty ? what if i changed my Headlight bulb ? Best way to be safe with oncoming high beam vehicles is to slow down and move over to the side till they pass. The RTR is a fun bike to slow down and then take off, I enjoy doing that all the time

Hi...!!! Anybody in this community having the New Look RTR 180? If yes, then how does it fair against the previous model?
And just out of curiosity, How well does the new rtr180 match up against the P200NS? I already have a 9 yr old Fiero F2, done more than a lakh kms. Now i plan to buy a new bike, so its either gonna be the New RTR180 or else P200NS.
TVS being my first bike, reliability, performance have never been a issue, so i think buying another TVS vehicle would make more sense.
But would it be better to stick to the same company or try a different one?Last edited by tintin708; 06-29-2012, 11:59 AM.

Pulsar 200 NS is of different class altogether no comparison... 180 is surely a bike anybody can go for, Comfortable in city ride & stable for long run too, Pick Up & Cornering is just getting better & better day by day for me, once you understand well it will be really fun to rode this bike even at 10-30 you feel the awesomeness of this bike, its fun to go 30-60 in few seconds & then brake it down again at lower speed in few seconds ... ABS Works perfectly, about its looks i can say its beasty look everybody loves it not even single person who stopped to watch out my bike said anything negative about look of this version, yup its subjective depends on person to person, but i like RTR looks then PNS200...
Try not to go by any1 word, just search what your heart is looking for ? & go for that Bike, PNS200 is a good bike too it got his own pros like RTR both can't be compared ...
Best of Luck for your New Bike Selection
