No TVS wont allow that, rather you can say that I just got TVS tru4 so don't top up and when you come out , go to the nearest mechanic and get your choice of oilOriginally posted by shahbaz63 View PostGood to hear that ... what if i switch to SHELL by first servicing itself ? is it possible under warranty ?Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

You mean to say, let TVS guy do servicing with there TVS Tru4 itself, after servicing i should visit local mechanic to change my engine Oil to Shell ?
Correct ! ?
Cool
and is there any necessity to cover my Digital Console Display from Water/Rain ?
[PS: I have seen people covering up there Display Console (Digital/Analog) with some plastic cover in this rainy days..]

Before you do that , just ask mechs @ your SVC if they will allow other brand oils if not then do as prateek suggested.Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostDidnt got you, i know it wont be free, but for better performance of my bike i wont mind wasting that TRU4 money ..

Hope its minor issue as i know.....
Fingers Crossed...
Hey Bro the Gear Shifts will be smooth as you pile up kilometers on your odo. The gear shifts will be smooth after the First servicing. Chill and enjoy every ride with your beast

Please refrain from using full synthetic engine oils until around 7000kms is completed. Piston rings, crankshaft etc., need to get seated nicely with contact surfaces. Mineral oils help this process as some friction is provided, where as FS oils being ultra smooth, won't. Changing oil and filter after the first 100Kms, then at 500Kms and at 1,000Kms would be great as any metal debris inside the engine would be cleared out.
Use the oils the SVC provide. There are other choices as well like, Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40, Motul 3000 4T Plus 20W40 and Shell Advance AX5 10W40.The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Tell the service mechanic that a oil change is not required. Or just take the FS oil to him & ask him to fill up the crank case, when you go to collect your bike after service & get it changed in front of you.Originally posted by shahbaz63 View PostGood to hear that ... what if i switch to SHELL by first servicing itself ? is it possible under warranty ?
But you are facing a gear shifting problem,right..?? I would advice you NOT to change to FS oil right now just get your bike serviced the way the TVS svc wants to do it. The first service is quite important & must be done correctly.During second or after second service shift over to FS.
Just enjoy the vibrations of the new beast as of now...

Agree with this to the fullest. Those who are thinking to jump to FS just for the sake of it, control the urges and ride with the mineral oil for at least 3-4k kms, then you can upgrade to SS and later to FS.Originally posted by Rtrlover83 View PostPlease refrain from using full synthetic engine oils until around 7000kms is completed. Those who dont trust TVS Tru4 can change to Motul or any other brand that they prefer but Tru4 is not that bad, personally used it every time except when I won Castrol Power1 SS
, even did Spiti's gruesome track on Tru4 with no hassles.

Guys, one myth i had all these days was that Tru4 premium is mineral engine oil. It isnt guys
. Today, i had been to the svc n saw the stock recommended 10w30 Tru4 oil, which is Semi-synthetic
. Yes!! all our bikes run on semi, right frm day 1. I've jst changed it to MotulV 7100, 10w40 FS, with 12k on ODO.
After extensive research, I've also changed sparkplug (same as in my stock from Bosch.) and didnt switch to iridium, though i did it 3000 kms prior to regular replacement.
Also, switched from DOT3 to DOT 4 brake fluid. Not much expectations from this. However, I'll keep u all posted with the changes i notice.
I did all these things as a preparation for my this weekend 1200kms round trip to bangalore-ooty-kodai-bangalore trip.Dont defeat your enemy.. destroy him. offer hope then crush it..fuel his ego then break it.. finally. deploy ABS..execute the curve..victims defeat assured.. victims confidence destroyed...!!! All with my Beast.. Racing beast....!!!!
