i have uswd FS oil & topped 127kp/h...Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostIf it was not the FS oil ,then...God knows why my bike would not cross 60kmph on an up slope & splender would happily pass on..
As far as I remember this started after I filled FS 10W40 oil..

What the ??Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostTry filling some 750ml for the first 500-700km then fill the rest of the can..(this might reduce the sluggishness)..........
Any F.S is good, don't go for a grade more than 10W40..Or else splender will be faster

IMHO please correct what you have written above dear xBhpian.
Each oil has its own purpose at its own usage interval at its own time. FS oils are usually added after some 10000kms in the odo. It has the sole idea of making the engine components to be properly set. FS oils tend to lose its amount in less smoother engines, like the Bajaj, TVS engines [read Pulsar, RTR]
Regarding grade, the recommended one is 20w40. Even 15w50 can be used for RTR engines. It has wider optimum working temperature range than the 20w40 graded oil, and hence can be very handy in keeping the engine cool for long rides. It has more cold temperature performance too. The major negative is reduction in revvability.
Cheers. Ride safe

A dumb question.
Is it possible to fit rear disc brakes on a rear drum 160 without losing warranty? If yes, what'd be the cost? I know, i was dumb enough for not opting for it while buying. I didn't know that i'd be ripping it like this. If i knew i'd have bought a 180. I've never come across a situation where the rear drum hasn't saved me though.

The engine performance is related on a lot of factors vivek bhai. It can be anything from dirty air filter, faulty/dirty TPS,dirty carb to bad tuning.Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostIf it was not the FS oil ,then...God knows why my bike would not cross 60kmph on an up slope & splender would happily pass on..

It's near impossible that an RTR cannot move past 60kmph with just the effect of the oil. It has to be something else. For sure.
Edit: Maybe the diaphragm of the carb is damaged. Please get it checked. It's not about the RIDE. It's about HOW YOU ride :]

Answered by jsg, above mentioned problems by you are not directly related to oil IMOOriginally posted by vivekgautams View PostIf it was not the FS oil ,then...God knows why my bike would not cross 60kmph on an up slope & splender would happily pass on..
Still using TVS Tru4 and have done 134kmh....ab boloOriginally posted by shahbaz63 View Posti have uswd FS oil & topped 127kp/h...
Grade of oil has nothing to do with top speed
For rear disc you need to change the alloy if I am correct, which will force you to loose warrantyOriginally posted by pcgamer View PostA dumb question.

Oh then ok
By the way, today my RTR behaved abnormally. I was riding around 40-45kmph (compared with a friend's speedo), and the speedo showed speed of 128, which increased to 136kmph. I switched off the bike completely and started it again after 1minute, it was fine then. Seems I need to upgrade......

Of the two, Motul 5100 ester 4T is better.Originally posted by pcgamer View PostWhich one is better among motul 5100 4T SS and Shell AX7 SS? Is motul worth the extra cash?
1. Holds up really well at higher engine rev's. The AX7 ain't that bad either.
2. Engine does not heat up much.
3. Drain period/oil performance period is much longer than the AX7.
4. AX7 is a highly refined mineral oil (go through the engine oil thread) while the M5100 is an ester based semi-synthetic oil and hence the increased cost.

Thanks for the update.Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostThe M5100 10w40 is now not available, according to the All India Distributor Atlantic Lubricants.
W50 grade is most wanted here (for Pulsar's, Duke, Ninja 250R etc.) and that might be the reason. The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.
