Firstly I would like to thank you all for delivering me good knowledge upon maintenance and performance of my bike.
I have been a slient reader always from the day when I booked my RE TB350 on 5th May 2014. I got my Twillight on 28th May but I was not able to post coz my account was not validated with xbhp.
The experience to own this bull is out of the world. I am seeking chances to drag it out whenever its possible coz RTO registration has not been done yet.
I have maintained my speeds between 45-55kmph but maintaining proper gears as per manual is bit challenging. Bull asks for more and more speed but I need to contol myself.
Would require your valuable suggestions if I could install a petrol lock coz there had been an instance of petrol theft.

Hey guys,
Prateek just spoke out my words. Just like Prateek I too have been a silent reader of this group and got my account activated earlier today.
Well I have always been a fan of the Thunderbird, but owning one never seemed to be possible for me while I was a student. Nor did dad get me one :P. Thus at times I have tried not to checkout the latest updates from RE on Thunderbird because it just made me feel low as I couldn't own one.
Well, Guys.. Today I am proud and delighted to inform that I booked TB350 (stone black) a week ago. My first huge investment to get my dream true.. Yippee..
. RE showroom guys claim 3months waiting here in Kerala. Anyways am really thrilled and just counting days.
Would love to know if any of you have seen stone black TB with the new logo.?? If yes can anyone please upload pictures of it.?
Will be active in this group from now on. Thanks.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Sujit this is the worst time, period from booking till delivery. You get jealous of all the birds flying on roads and start dreaming about yourself.
Well I congratulate you make your dream come true, don't forget to upload pictures once recieved.

TranqilRage you are the person who is responsible for me owning a thunderbird. One common day while dreaming about thunderbird I came across to read your ownership experience. Now that was the spark I was looking for. I made my mind that I definitely need to own this machine. The Next weekend I booked it by just asking the showroom person how soon can I get it he said maximum 10 days as new colours are coming and we have to stockout previous ones. Twillight was the shade I was fascinated for, I immediately booked it and got it. Now the challenge is that they require an affidavit and police verification for RTO registration but my office is not allowing me to get it done.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Hey guys. I own a thunderbird 350 2013 edition. I plan on doing a few performance mods on my bike, please throw in your suggestions.
Firstly in my mind is a k&n air filter, could someone suggest me which would be best suited for my bike? And obviously I would have to rejett my carb, so someone experienced could help me out with the dimensions.
Secondly I'm also planning on changing to iridium sparkplugs.
I've heard the new ThunderBird isn't best suited for aftermarket exhausts, so would I find any improvement in my performance using my stock exhaust?

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
hey Guys.. What happened? Why is this room so quiet lately ??
Like I mentioned in my last post, i'd booked my TB 2-3 weeks back. I was told a waiting period of minimum 3 months. Last week I'd pinged the showroom guy if he could give me an estimate date by which they could deliver me the ride. This was not just out of excitement, but also to be financially prepared. But then the sales person told me since Stone black in 350cc segment is new and due to the logo change they have no idea if they could deliver even in 3 months.
And I happened to be the first person to book stone black with new logo from my town
:
.. Anyhow the person asked me to give him a call after a week by then he would find out how long it would take for the delivery .
We'll yesterday by evening, I received a call from the showroom saying my bike is ready, and I could pay the amount and take the delivery
. But then things turned out way too quick and since I am not opting loan, I'll have need a month to for the whole amount.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
sujit22 - I was told told that 'ETA' for Stone Black was not known. I have booked Lightning. My estimated wait period is 3-5months in Thane. I want bike not before October or at least not before monsoon finishes off.
With shorter wait time I am hearing, I am concerned that I will get my bike in middle of monsoon. (Booked bike in mid-May).
Did you check if we can defer the delivery by a month or so? Or can we pass on the opportunity? Kind of like telling them that I will take delivery of next Stone Black?

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Oh yes Abhishek, monsoon is a concern. It has already started raining like crazy in Kerala and that is the only reason ETA of 3 months did not bother me much.Originally posted by Abhishek Mirajkar View Postsujit22 - I was told told that 'ETA' for Stone Black was not known. I did speak to the sales person sometime back. He said I could skip this one and collect from a later lot (at the same time ETA is a big '?'), But i don't get an option to hold back this piece for a month or so.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
That makes sense.
I am not going to call the dealer before August. I dont want my Bird that early.
Good to know that you can give it a miss and wait for the next lot.
I guess delivery times are getting shorter. Many folks are getting the delivery in a month or 45days.
Thanks for the info!

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Hello xBhpians,
Hope you are enjoying your monsoon rides.
After waiting for more than two months I will be getting my thunderbird in couple of days. The showroom guys have not confirmed the date yet but as I have got messages from RTO and Insurance company, hope I'll get it soon.
I was silent reader of xbhp threads.
But as I need some information I am writing this post.
My queries are-
1) Do I need to do the teflon coating on my bike befire delivery?
2) What is the cost of leg guard/crash guard outside?
The showroom guys are charging me 4500 bucks for teflon coating and crash guard.

1. No don't ever go for this so called teflon coatings, most of these are not teflon coatings these are just wax polishes with very minimum teflon in them, plus they do more harm than good, infact a good quality wax polish is more than enough to keep the paint shining, but there is no need of wax polishing your bike as soon as you get it.
2. There are lots of crash guard available, costing from as low as 1000rs, a good quality crash guard should cost you around 2000rs/.

Thanks, It's very difficult to wait. And you are right, I can only dream about the bird. Whenever I hear the thumping sound it makes me feel that I will have my own very soon.
