Hi, you will have to understand the requirement for running in, I'll try to put it as simply as possible.

New engine, new block and piston, minute deformations on new metal parts which are going to rub against each other, so friction and heat, oil film to be maintained between block and piston to reduce friction and oil seals on the piston or piston rings to set in place to ensure the oil film. To ensure this happens smoothly, manufacturer advise to take it easy and once the oil seals are set and the surfaces are smooth, ride free.

Now coming to your point, if you have not faced any noise or issue with the engine, then you might be ok. The earlier 500 kms within 2000 rpm would have done the job. These UCE engines are much more forgiving than the earlier CI engine so don't worry and ride safe.

      Hello Everyone,

I have booked the Thunderbrid 350 and it will be delivered in a few weeks (fingers crossed).

I want to make a few modifications listed below and want your updates/suggestions:

      1) Want to change the rear view mirrors and want to have the chrome one's used in Classic. will it affect the vision of rear views?

      2) And about the leg guard i do not like the butterfly one and would like to have the One rod only but will it be safe to use or should i go for butterfly one?

      3) Want to change the exhaust as i love the thumping of Classic. So is it advisable to change it after few thousand kilometers and few services and will it affect the bike in any means like mileage or performance?

And any other modifications which are recommended then please share....

Hi everyone, i would like to know if there's any way to prevent scratches on the fuel tank. I had the Teflon coating done on my new thunderbird ,but still i can see the scratches developing every week. I tried to avoid it as much as i can ,but i couldnt succeed. Can you please suggest a way to get this resolved.

        Thanks in advance!

Get it laminated with transparent film you will lose some of visible shine but it will protect from scratches.

Yeah a friend of mine just got his bird....He went ahead for the straight rod from outside vendors as the showroom does not keeps them.

It costed him around 650 and the road is damn heavy go for the Diamond Brand as i have heard they are the old makers of accessories and parts of the RE Bikes. And it does looks cool.

Can any body suggest from Pune, where i can go for indore silencer suited for new TB? I heard the thump improves signifincatly. Has anyone fitted goldie on new thundy.

Yup ! I have it on mine... Fitted from shaqeel based out in Wanowari... It is the best in my opinion...

I have been on the lookout for a silencer change for a while now, and after a reasonable research, i have zeroed in on the goldstar model. but this, in itself has opened up a lot of options. Some say goldstar with baffeles would be a perfect fit, some say, GS with glasswool will improve performance and fuel economy. I was first thinking of getting one from sans, but then people say shaqeel is better...

Please help me here.. really confused.

                      Q1. should i go for glasswool/baffle?
Q2. which manufacturer would you recommend from personal experience?

                      Thanks.

Glasswool is better anyday (personal opinion). B'coz glasswool gives you that deep bass sound that no other silencer can give. Not even Indore silencer... yeah indore is also good, but it is typical bullet sound (thump) but not as deep as a glasswool can offer.
Regarding which make.. I'll suggest to go 4 shaqeel's one as it is tried and tested and appretiated since many many years. Also you can try out some other varients in glswl @ shaqeel's place. But you won't be able to do that with Sans inc.

Ps: You mentioned that "GS with glasswool will improve performance and fuel economy."
I agree about performance but not FE. On the other hand, it decreases FE as it is a free flow silencer.
Although it can be gained back by tuning the carb...

Thanks Rahul. Appreciate if you can post some pics of your thunderbird with Goldie. Also did you notice any change in performance?

Sure! will post pics tomorrow... regarding performance, yeah performance gets better @ upper end. But it lacks torque @ lower end (something which any bulletier won't like...) FE also decreases.
But no worries... Both issues can be cured by tuning the carb.

Thanks Rahul for your inputs. So the tuning of carb is also done by Shakeel post goldie is installed? or we need to get it done from somwehere else.

Nope... you will get only silencer installed on your bike @ shaqeel. For the tuning part you'll need to check with any mechanic...
It's not a rocket science. Just a tweak and all done... Any mech can help you do that...
