Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Your heart says RE, you and your wife like the looks, just go ahead with TB350. Most comfortable for the rider and the pillion, nice handling and good features. All bikes have few issues. The feel initially will be different as you have been riding CBZ but you will get the hang of it and it is fun.Originally posted by sudiptosrkr View Post

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Just now called up the dealer to know the store timings for tomorrow and received a news that RE has stopped the Twilight color of the TB350. The store representative told me that they are launching 2 new colors: Navy Blue and Lightning in place. Will get to see the images in the showroom tomorrow. Anyone over here has heard anything like that? Really like the Twilight color.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Classic and TB both has its own share of advantages and disadvantages..... But keep one thing in mind when you own an RE you are bound to have some issues here and there. But when you ride it you forget about all such things and just enjoy the ride. And TB350 will suit you more as you will be travelling to your native place for 180 kms with wife as a pillion you wont feel tiredness at all.Originally posted by sudiptosrkr View PostHello everyone!! I have a silent reader of xbhp for ages. But this is my first post. Need the advice of the gurus regarding booking of a RE machine.. Don't know whether this thread is the correct place to post my query or not.
It was always a dream to own a RE and finally now i have decided to change over from my CBZ Xtreme. I primarily use my bike for commuting daily to my office with a to and fro distance of 60kms total. Along with that I also occasionally go to my parents place which is around 180kms from Kolkata. All these trips are along with my wife as pillion.
I took the TD of both the CL350 and TB350. Since it was the first time I tried to ride a cruiser bike, it took me some time to get used to the handling of the TB350. Personally I did find TB350 smoother than the CL350. Even my wife also liked the looks of it.
But after reading all the posts regarding various problems like malfunctioning of the digital instrument panel and disc brake problems I am wondering whether I should go for the CL350 or not whic does not have any digital components and the rear non-disc brake.
But then almost everyone is saying that the seats of CL350 are not comfortable enough and I definitely do not want a sore butt for both me and my wife.
And buying an Electra has been ruled out by wifey due to the looks.
Personally I am also more attracted towards the CL350 or the TB350.
So I would need some advice as I have made up my mind that I will go the RE showroom and make a booking tomorrow.
I do not have any friends in Kolkata who owns a RE and hence I do not even have anyone to personally consult to. Guys who belong from Kolkata please do guide me regarding places from where I should get my accessories and also where I will find good RE mechanics later on. Also please suggest which dealership will be more recommended for the purchase: Austin Motor(Esplanade) or Kolkata Bike Zone(VIP road).
I have booked TB350 and will get the delivery soon and the showroom people told you the right thing twilight is stopped by the company, i also booked twilight but wont get it now. Instead i am taking flicker which is available with showroom here. And you might have to wait a bit as company is launching new colors with logo change on bike but the wait will be worth.I don't ride a bike to add days to my life, I ride a bike to add life to my days.....

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Finally went ahead and made the booking for TB350 today..
Told that I would get my ride in a month..
The showroom manager informed that RE is going to launch few new colors for TB... Was only able to show the pic of the marine (blue) model in his phone..
The RE logo on the tank and the TB name on the sides are getting changed. The new model is supposed to come to the showroom next week. He also informed that the matt finish colour will also be made available for the TB350..
Lets see how it is going to look..Last edited by sudiptosrkr; 05-03-2014, 03:15 PM.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Look if this problem doesnt bother you in normal riding forget it. but if you want to rectify it change clutch and pressure plates in warranty or without it. This is in most or the bikes I have seen even in two stroke yamaha Rxz. try adjusting the clutch fro its lever adjustment by loosening it more. but in my opinion forget it if it doesnt bother you. Tank needs to be replaced in warranty I got mine replaced two times for paint defect reason. about oil leak picture its not very clear but if its somewhere on top of gearbox near piston cylinder it could be from alternator wiring rubber sealing that comes out from gearbox.Originally posted by dk0rules View PostDo you consider 6000kms as new? My bike has clocked the above odo, cant tell the exact figure as my console was changed recently, it was changed at around 5700kms and the new odo is 100 something.
So do you think I should bug RE about this? Or just wait for it to get normal, btw I have one more tb350 in Flickr shade and clocked with 2600kms almost, and its wheel also rotates but has much lower torque as compared the twilight , in which there is almost no difference of clutch pressed or released.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Thats true mate.. Even RE is coming up with new colors.. Saw a pic in the manager's phone today..Originally posted by biker.abhi View PostHello Guys,
The dealer from whom i booked my Thunderbird says that there is delay from the RE itself as there is new TB350 coming up with a small logo change in the bike?
I would appreciate if anyone shed some light on this. Is this true or the dealer is making excuse because he cannot deliver the bike on time?
I called the RE from the contact number of chennai i got from their official website. The telephone operator said there is some logo change in the bike. Then also wanted to know if anyone knows about this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks....

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Thanks mate, its not giving me any trouble riding, i was just wandering if i might be a problem. i have tried adjusting clutch lever, the same is done by ASC when complained about clutch or gear. i called them regarding my tank replacement, they haven't got approval yet so i still have to wait.Originally posted by oilburner View PostLook if this problem doesnt bother you in normal riding forget it. but if you want to rectify it change clutch and pressure plates in warranty or without it. Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Dear frds, just completed 2nd Free service @ 701 Kms and 4 Months. Must say after the service , the bike has really become much more smoother. Its really refined now. No Vibrations noticed. Also false neutral problem is resolved . Not much of false neutrals. Grt Bike, really cherish it.
Also the chain oil leak was rectified. thanks dk0rules. It was indeed due to excessive lubrication.
Guys just had a query, as i have just done the servicing, will i have to again give the bike for servicing again after 2 months else will my 3rd free service expire? Actually i am the 2nd owner and the 1st owner did not ride the bike much. The 1st service happened @ 200 Kms only.

hi Sudipto, Go ahead with TB 350, this is the best bike currently from Royal enfield Stable. I bet lots of research has gone to develop this Thunderbird. Afterall this was the bike which revived RE. I am myself proud owner of TB 350. i am the 2nd owner and trust me this problems are minor niggles which can be fixed easily. But the power ,torque and the mighty road presence makes you feel the king of roads.
Happy Thumping.

But not sure which colur I am gonna get. The store Manager informed that RE is changing the logo and colours of TB from this month. They are yet to recieve the new stock. I liked the twilight one but I guess that won't be available anymore.

Great Sudipto, excellent decision. But a agonising wait. Hopefully RE launches more solid colors on the lines of twilight and flicker. Let's wait.Fingers crossed.Originally posted by sudiptosrkr View PostYup I too have booked my TB350 last Saturday.. Now is the period of the long and tiring wait.

What us the waiting period these days? I got mine in 8 months.. AMD I was among the first ones to get the new model.. I had booked the old model, but was lucky enough I guess..Originally posted by Enfielder View PostGreat Sudipto, excellent decision. But a agonising wait. I sure hope the logo on the bird isn't as sad as the one shown for cl350 above.. I initially hoped they would incorporate the wing logo for Tue bird.. That would look so much cool..
What new colours are they launching?
