4 Litres is approximate, that's why I wrote 'about'. Am not entirely convinced of the variable of 16.xx-20.9 L tank in the new TB because they have the new automated plant now. Mine's been produced in the new one at least Even for the old plant, 4 L is a big variable! Anyway, that's an old post. In my latest tankful, I got 36-37kmpl...again mix of highway & city riding.
The varition is around 3 litres.....i was wrong about 16.x.....its 17.93 and 20.91as of two people I know as their bikes are having the mentioned tank capacity.....my bike is also from the new plant I think so as the engine no and chassis no are different and thunderbird and desert storm are manufactured from new plant....Is there any other way in knowing from which plant our bikes are manufactured....???? and also I would like to mention I loved your TB ownership experience 10 yrs in the making which impressed me a lot in buying this bike. I used to get around 32-36 kms 80% city riding. My bike nearing 2k kms and 2 mnths........

Yes. And also try to fill full with bike on center stand.

You can also come to know by the quality check stickers in the new bike.

Thanks, happy to know you bought the bike with interest after reading my thread.

I think your average is proper. Will pick up slightly as the starting kms and services go by.
I have those stickers around my bike....but doesn't that come with older plant too.....my bike having no issues so far and is in perfect condition.......but there are few concerns as when I hit small cutters there's a sound like chain hitting somewhere which my friend tells is normal and small tappet sound and rattling sound from engine sometimes when started at morning....but the tappet sound goes away soon during idling and accelerating a bit and rattling noise goes away after a small ride......is it normal......and also I need a fuel lock.....?????

Haha for old time's sake that was me who called you because my friend's 500CC was acting up! We had to remove the entire self start assembly? BTW we called from Rajpur not Manali lol.

^ your bike is electric start??? my friends called me from manali to make me hear to noise coming from their bike ( machismo 500 ), and it refused to move, shift in neutral or kick start or anything.. It was a high pitched whining noise. I advised them to remove the starter motor, and put fabricated plate on the opening, and use the kick.. It was a seized starter motor that refused to disengage from the starting gear.

the new starters are apparently better, so lesser issues. But as a rule, always kick start your bike the first time in the morning, and then you can use the electric starter for the rest of the day..

I thought you had to get the puc done anyway after delivery.. My puc card says validity of 6 months.. Have to renew it in jan now.

Guys, I am facing a strange problem, my bike vibrates crazy as if there is some huge amount of friction somewhere. This happens only in the speed range of 70-80kph. At 60 it is smooth, and it smooths out at 80 and beyond as well. Has anyone faced similar problem?

No, they had the factory sticker stuck on the inside of the cover of the battery box. ASC & dealer is saying 6 months, online it is written 6 months or 1 yr in some places. Nothing clear on traffic police site. Will probably get it done tomorrow if I don't find the answer, who wants to argue with cops...rather have my peace of mind with whatever small fees of PUC is there for bikes.

What speed you changing to 4th and 5th?

the factory PUC is valid for 6 months

hi, all just completed 600 kms , gave 1 service had some minor issues of rear brake noise, if we turn to full right the handle gets jammed , well nothing got solved got the bike at round about 6.30 pm , first while checking brakes were not functioning at all, showed it to the workshop team, they said might be water has entered , so they scrubbed the the disc pads and it started functioning , but the handle is still jammed i think what does this service people do , they dont see the job card, they dont check vehicles for the issue written in job cards , i had a word with them , they said sir bring the bike we will sort it out , means again to waste time for the same reason, this is not professionalism , but to say i have enjoyed riding for 1.5 mths now, but this minor problems give headache

My TBTS 350 self start/electric start has conked off. Kick start works, but there is no odo meter display etc. I need to take it to the service centre!!!! Booking for service is like 20days from today, WTF! Do i really need to wait so long to get my bike repaired? Also, ppl from bangalore can anybody recommend "better" service station? I have been going to RE Store ASC but they suck big time. Any suggestions?
