My bird went for second service this weekend. Head Gasket was changed. Usual Oil and Oil filter change was done. I was charged INR320 for the gasket. Was not able to drive more the 20 odd kms yesterday and all seems to be OK, but need to test the oil leak after a drive. Its been raining on and off in Pune and the weekend monsoon drives are inviting!!! Hopefully the oil leak is been taken care off (fingers crossed).

      • Hello Everyone!

I got my TBTS delivered last friday. I was very excited to put my hands on but also aware of not to go beyond 2000RPM before first servicing. When at last all the documentation was over and actually took the bike, I felt like I am in mid of a dream but it was a reality. I have rode around 100 Kms so far and always keep in mind that I should not cross above 40-50 kmph. I am very excited.

Your suggestions and advice are most welcome regarding run in period care.

        Keep Thumping & Ride Safe.

Why !? isn't it covered under warantee ?? I mean it should be replaced free-of-cost within warantee period. Isn't it ?

The bike is running smoothly, 350 kms till date , no long rides as yet and had never crossed 2K rpm. Engine Sounds ok.

Gaskets, electrical components, rubber components are not covered under warranty as per ASC :-(

                    Hi,

Not sure about the Mumbai based service centers. But, if everything is fine, then apart from regular checking for any loose bolts and stuff like that, Oil and oil filter change is mandatory.

                      • hello

Its been long since i have been here, and i couldnt maintain my bird properly.

My back drum brake loosens very soon and one really needs to push it hard to make it work so i tried tightening by rotating the screw at the bike lever(or is it called something else?) ,it works better but in a few days it started to make a screeeech sound whenever i apply brakes...its irritating any solutions for this?
and even for the disc brake i get this type of sound sometimes...the service center guy said if u apply more disc brake the hydraulics will damage and make that sound...is it true? can it be rectified?

@madelikeagun...read from the posts here that u got hold of a good mechanic...i am through with my free services and i need a good mechanic too...btw is it the same guy whom i suggested many days back(srinu, ranigunj)? if not please guide me to him..

                        thanks
                        chetan

                            • Hello Everyone

Two days back done the First servicing of TBTS at Sharda motors Goregaon
Routine checks and oil changes done, costed 750 Rs.
The bike is running smoothly and engine seems more free.
Fortunately not yet detected any oil leak from any part.
Although I have done only 600 kms so far, is it still required to keep rev below 2000rpm? what should be the max speed while on highways?
