The Journey begins.... RE TBTS
But move on to what? 135 CC? discover is good option and yet Pulsar 135 is a latest launch. 150 CC? Unicorn is the first option with Apache RTR, CBZ extreme and Pulsar following it.
I started searching the internet for a second hand bull and also told all my friends to keep an eye on any such opportunity. But something was not satisfying me. 10 years back, I learnt riding a bike on my new Caliber Chroma and after 10 years of companionship I do believe that you actually start speaking with your Machine. You realises when to pamper her , when to push her hard and when to become adventurous or cautious. Sorry, I can not ride a Bull already used by some other guy. Even on practical note, it will be really difficult to judge the condition of a used RE! I will buy a new machine and both of us will start the relationship together!
I started gathering the information about the bike and came across this wonderful online Indian biking community, XBhp! I religiously started reading the forums whenever possible and really gained a good knowledge about the bike and various probable problems and their solutions.
Finally on evening of 15th May, I cruised across the traffic of Western Express Highway trying to synchronize my Heart-beats with the thumping vibrations of the monstrous 350CC Engine!

Dear Rahul
This whole incident is Heart-braking but do not loose your temper while handling this issue.
Collect all the documents such as job cards and payment receipts you have received from the service station, also prepare a list of expenses you had made during all visits to the service station and Towing of the bike.
Ask the RE officials to give you replacement of the bike if it was a manufacturing defect as they must have done quality check before sending the bike out of their factory.
You can definitely get complete help from the consumer court!
Be patient and fight calmly!

Its really required.
I have posted it earlier also that RE is really interested to know the customer feedback.
I had spoken to the officials myself, and they are really helpful.

Booked the "Black Stallion"
Hi Guys
I am new to this forum and basically got interested in the site after booking my first Royal Enfield model - Thunderbird 350.
I always wanted to own the BIRD from the time it was launched but could not afford the beast at that time, so I made good with the Pulsar, this was way back in 2003.
I still have the Pulsar and intend to keep the bike till it decides its own retirement date
I have booked the black color model after lots of contemplation between the Maroon and the Silver but then finally decided on the black as it is the easiest to maintain and touch up if required.
Eagerly awaiting for the "Black Stallion" as I have fondly named him. The delivery is in September 2012 but it seemed okay because I will get it after the Mumbai rains.
Cheers to all you guys who make this such an incredible thread and the kudos to the entire site.
Will definitively post some stuff once I have that piece of heavy metal in my parking.
I'll be back
Till then....Ride SAFE Ride SMART

@ madelikeagun: Few pages back you mentioned that you're gonna do some mods in your TBTS. Any update on it ? Are you done with it ? (want to know about the wheels specifically....)
@ all others: Isn't there ANYONE else who feels that the gap between engine top and the tank disturbs the overall look of beast. Has anyone came up with any idea to hide/utilize it?Originality is the art of hiding your sources...

Oh yes that one. Well, about the wheel, Alloys are readily available from Coimbatore manufacturer. But I did not do a MOD on that because spokes perform much better on highways. - I replaced rear tires to Dunlop the pic is available in older posts for you to view.Originally posted by Rahul.Gvli View Post@ madelikeagun: Few pages back you mentioned that you're gonna do some mods in your TBTS. Headlights, I upgraded to 60/55w Headlamp. HIDs later as I mentioned.
Did not fit any carrier for touring because the saddle bags perform fantastic.
About silencer, I let the stock be. I found a famous bullet mechanic who has 17 years on his hands. He takes care of my bull now and the job done is commendable. And last the link you gave me about Royal Enfield zone in New Delhi. His products are too over prices. I send him 3 emails from 3 different addresses and got 3 different quotations all shockingly outrageous. I found a Bullet spare shop new Helmet world inside a small lane in Ranigunj. He had every spare that I needed including Fuel tanks with higher capacity, Ladakh carriers. I got the spares I needed and did not upgrade fuel tank due to the fact I can carry 10 Liters of fuel with no hassle in my saddle bags. So my problems solved.Motorcycle Trip log - Summer ride to N. Perfecto...

Yeah, with stock reflector and holder, as far as I remember...

How much he quoted for bigger fuel tank? What capacity?

BTW don't you think that a adding a bigger tank will be a better option (if cost allows) as it bypasses the risk in carying petrol in saddle bags/in a container on carrier !? It will give the beast more massive look too... Just my thought.Originality is the art of hiding your sources...

I had also contacted the RoyalEnfieldZone for the silencer.
I had requested a quote for the double silencer ( harley one ).
Do you have any idea if that will be good to fit that in the thunderbird.
I already have crossed my warranty. So no probs with that.______________________________________________________________

Yes, with stock reflector and it works fine. Did not bother to ask the price of larger tank. Will ask when I go there next time. There is always a risk carrying extra fuel or riding many thousand kilometers as well. I am not interested to invest in that MOD as of now.Originally posted by Rahul.Gvli View PostSome more kotions in bold...

Royal Enfield Zone
They are asking 6300 for this one. What do you think that its advisable to go for this silencer ?
They say that they can tune the sound the way i want, and the mileage and pick up will not be effected. They also said that i can fit this one on my Thunderbird.______________________________________________________________
