Although I was very skeptical with so many people saying that the new Royal enfield engines were not stable and reliable.
After riding 4200Kms to Leh and beyond, now I can say with confidence. the RE Thunderbird TS is the best tourer you can have. The engine performed like a charm. With the correct service and proper care, this machine will not let you down.Motorcycle Trip log - Summer ride to N. my t'bird has done close to 2500kms now and is now due for her 2nd service. I have visited the authorised service centre at Erragadda, Hyd more than 6 times in the last 2 months and am happy that she is finally settling down, but there are still a couple of niggles to be sorted out.
There seems to be a noise comin from the chain whenever i go over undulations, this issue was mentioned before at the service center several times, but the noise has always returned, albeit with reduced intensity this time. Chain play and chain cover do not seem to be the culprits to me.
Service center guys have mentioned that they changed engine oil at the first service, but when i checked the oil indicator recently, the oil appears to be pitch black in colour. Is this normal or could they have forgotten to change the oil at 1st service?? Either way, im plannin on oil change at the second service definitely. I have followed the run in procedure diligently and am now being rewarded by butter smooth (not honda league
) gear shifts, or so i like to think
Posted my first road trip (Hyd-Medak) on the t'bird in the tourer section, will b visible wen the mods approve it

Finally booked my BEAST (Royal Enfield TBTS)
Hello Guys,
This is my first post after joining to xBHP. After a long 2 months of survey about thunderbird bike, whether to buy it or not, I finally decided to go for it.
Yesterday I booked it at CVS motors near palace ground(Bangalore). The showroom guy was very polite and helpful. I had made up my mind to buy this bike so much that, I did not even go for a test ride. Within 30mins all work got over. Booking fee is now increased to 5000/- . Waiting period is almost 5months
.
I need the timely advice from all the royal geeks. Will continue after I get the bike.

Absolute newbie willing to buy TBTS
Dear XBHPians,
I am an absolute newbie to biking, I dont even have a 2 wheeler liscence yet, But i am planning to buy myself a TBTS.
I plan to use the 6 month waiting period as a bonus, to learn about biking, and have already organized a Pulsar 150 for learning and practice.
Just would like to hear your thoughts, on whether it would be a good idea to go straight for the bird, or should I start of with some wannabe stuff like the Avenger220? If I buy a bike, It absolutely has to be a cruiser, so my options are quite limited here.
Kindly suggest from your experiences, is a 6 months run-in for a rider good enough to get his hands on the TBTS, or should you be more experienced in order to deserve one?
Thanks in advance for your wise advices.Gear for sale: fake A* bionic knee guards, 3" bar end mirrors. PM if interested.

Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

This is surely a rookie question - but, I'm back on the TBTS after a long time. The warranty period is over and frankly, the AUTH service center in Indiranagar does not make me smile every time I walk out of the center after a service.
Any recommendations? I live in Blore near Koramangala.
Thanks
