  • Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences

    Hello peeps,
Need a bit of advice from you guys. This is regarding Bangalore.
I have a RE Thunderbird 350, which I sometimes use for long roadtrips. I have a double sided saddlebag which can be fixed on both sides of the backseat.
However, when there is a pillion rider with me, the bag on the right grazes against the moving wheel. As a result, the rear lining of the bag gets destroyed.
My question - does anyone have any idea where I can fix a guide rail or a grill on the right side of the bike, like the stock grill on the left?

    Thanks!

Got my ride. Enjoying it. I haven't given for teflon coating. Should i do it myself with some 3M polish etc or give it to service centre itself for teflon coating? Thank you guys in advance.

There is a tick tick noise coming and the bird turn off slowly. The noise comes only when it is about to turn off.

Same happens when i ride slow. But once i ride for 1-2 kms, the sound dissappears. Any idea what it.is?

I have been looking for similar solution. I have checked some places in market. The only option you have on that is to have one custom made.

Now ride comfort here means not the seating position, handle bar etc but indeed I mean the suspension set up. Especially the rear gas filled shock absorbers. Every pothole sends a bad vibe to my back. I have tried everything on earth like maintaining proper air pressure (22 front and 32 rear). I maintain this air pressure because I am a well built person and this is the air pressure specified in the manual booklet for rider+pillion.

I have also adjusted the rear shock absorbers to the last level. Still I do not find any difference in the ride comfort.

            Does anyone face similar issue.

            Thanks in advance..
Same problem. Again you have to go for jugaad type solution for that. Nothing good you can do with stock.

              Hello,

Could you let me know where to look for one? And even if I have to opt for a custom made solution, which place would be best for it?

It will happen till first service and will disappear then. Thats what happened with me at least.

Just mention it when you go for the first service. Also drive carefully and under the limits of speed and RPM till first service if you dont want to have issues with your bike.

Thanks for the reply. Well, i am riding with caution... But at times speed goes a little above the specified limit but i keep it under limit.

And what is the optimum rpm till first service?

Could you explain in more detail?

Does it come after you switch off ignition?

No. It doesnt come when it is off. It comes when i dont give throttle and the rpm is low. But everything is fine once the engine is heated. Even in low rpm the sound isnt there (after riding for 2-3km). And even after an hour if it take the bike again, the sound doesnt come.

Usually comes when engine is cold.

The tick tick sound which comes after the bike is turned off is normal. Had it in all my bikes.

Make the fuel flow a little rich. The noise should go, and its normal. After tuning it to rich if the sound still comes get it checked.
