So buy which you like and use it when you are in the mood and switch back to stock when you have long rides and excessive use of your bike.

Your initial pick will increase slightly but top end will reduce dramatically. Overall the Royal Enfield's are not high speed machines so what happens is; when you fit the exhaust the bike would be making a big noise and not going fast in comparison with the noise it makes.
Thanks for the information. I will take it into consideration. I would really like that thumping sound instead of the stock exhaust.
But i use it for daily commute. May be 1000-1500 km per month.

And i dont drive rash. So power may not be an issue to me. But since you said about engine, i will take it into consideration. And if i change my exhaust, which is the ideal time to change?

After 2000km odo or the day just before 2nd service as a friend of mine said. He has a shop for Royal enfield exhaust.

After 2000kms should be fine. Just don't rev the bike too hard for prolonged periods of time.

There are tons of exhausts to choose from and you will never be satisfied with the exhaust note. When another Enfield with an exhaust comes close to you, you will feel his exhaust note is better than yours. Ha.... that's the fun.

Was cleaning my tbts 350 and found this rubber pipe cut almost in half. What is this pipe? Should I replace this immediately? I noticed that air was coming out of this pipe when I switch on the engine...Click image for larger version

Hello Xbhpians, I recently moved to B'lore and thinking of getting 2013-end Thunderbird 350. I am getting quotes of around 115 k and above here and I honestly do not the market here. Back in Hyderabad, I would get it for 100k to 105k as per my mechanic. Any suggestions on price range I should negotiate for?
P.S: I am ready to pay 115k if it is the true market price.

Yes did replace it. It cost me Rs.104/-. Got it replaced at the RE service centre. It seems that pipe requires frequent replacement.
About cleaning and lubing..can I do it myself? What products do I have to buy? Thank you for thevreply

You can do it yourself. Buy a 3M chain cleaner and chain lube.

For chain cleaning I am following these
                  • Wet with kerosine
                  • wash with pressure medium water, now dirt and most of oil is gone
                  • apply wd 40, wait 10 mins
                  • wash with pressure water again
                  • let it dry for ~1hr
                  • apply sae 90 gear oil on inside part,
                  • wipe off excessoil

                  Is it ok??

There is an easier but a little expensive way of caring for the chain. Use Motul chain cleaner and lubricant. Its very fast and good.

WD40 is generally not adviced for chains unless they are rusted and stuck together. it breaches the O rings and takes away all the lube inside.

i just wash the chain with a old toothbrush, using diesel/petrol. it cleans and dries instantly.

                      then spray Motul Lube.

Motul is good. I use it. Both motul chain cleaner and chain lube. In my last post, i wrote 3M instead of motul.

For Disk if it gets a puncture not everyone can fix it.I havent had one as yet but i talked to one regular tourer he learnt to fix it himself.
