        Hi there,

I also own 2015 Thunderbird 350, with a straight rod crash guard. Only mine is more thicker that yours. Initially i also faced the same issue, wherein the rod would hit the front mud guard whenever i braked. On Close inspection found that the crash guard is mounted inversely. I took it to a mechanic and asked him to re-mount the crash guard after doing 180 degree rotation. Then the clearance between crash guard and mud guard was large enough that i didn't face this issues anymore.

Let me know if you get it, else i can post some pics of my ride.

So.. The TB has given me another shock after almost 1 year! The bike has run a good 27000 kms in 2.5 years, and is still going strong.. but the other day, suddenly, the fus started blowing off! Replaced with another fuse, blown off again.

A local mech managed to get it back running by cutting and replacing some part of the wiring, but in the process, shorted my meter(console) and head light angel ring.

I can live with a non working angel ring for a while, but a meter is essential! My question is, will a cheaper analog odometer work with this new model? The new one costs a whopping 6k!! and i have no intentions spending that much at this point in time.

If anyone has got a custom meter, please help me find a good reliable cheap one. Im not going for looks as of now.

Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!

          Cheers!

              Hi all,

This is about Matte paint Care, i own a TBT350 Matte/Stone black.

After the second service(3000KMs) when i got the bike back i was shocked to see so many small scratches in the tank that were visible only on close inspection. I argued with the service center guys since it was not there before but they keep telling that it was present Pre-Service itself and since they did water wash its visible now - An answer i was not satisfied with. However, Until that i did not use a microfiber cloth, but a normal old vest cloth only to clean my bike daily. After this encounter i did some research on matte pain care.

So i'm putting together few points i have gathered over my time with this paint,

              DON'T:

              - Don't wipe dry, Always use a microfiber duster to dust before wiping.
              - Don't use general bike wash shampoo as it will make the paint glossier.
              - Never Wax, it will again make the bike glossier.
              - Don't go for Teflon coating.
              - Don't place rough edged luggage on your tank.

              DO's:

              - Always use microfiber cloth for cleaning matte areas
              - Dust it daily, Remove any sticky dusts like bird poop or spilled food items, grease immediately.
              - Use water only cleaning for . Remember to dust it before washing it with water.
              - After researching i found out window glass cleaner spray can be used with matte paint and is very effective while still maintaining the matte look.(Your Ideas?)
              - Use Two buckets of water, one for making the cloth wet another for wash the cloth after wiping.

There are specially formulated liquid for matte paint, Harley got HD Denim Cleaner &another one is Dr. Beasley's.
But These are not available easily in India. So glass Cleaner is the one i use now and have pretty good results.

Please pour in your thoughts ideas on this.

I havent tried this but worth a try, if the rust is not too spread or to deep, liberally rub in some chalk powder (dry) with a piece of rag over a small area to see if the rust is coming off. Later you can wipe rims or any other chromed (metal part) with diesel as it suppresses rust.

Now this is pretty much a DIY and like a first aid for rust. if you have access to more professional methods/resources do utilize them too

Hey buddy i am not sure whether you will find the complete tool set in a shop. although if you can get hold of the instructions manual, you can get detail of each tool included in kit and then you can buy them off the internet or in a store.

Ask at your asc. The standard toolkit is sold as a spare in Tue asc. They will replace it for you. Costs about 700 but I'm not sure about exact cost. I can find out if you like in my asc.

                        Cheers!

Thanks!! They will give the std tool kit which comes with the bike right?? And however it may sound I am an ass but still have to ask- Are the tools that are there in the std tool kit will be sufficient for breakdown maintenance on the road?

                              Thanks,

                                Hey friends
the breather pipe of tbts 350 has cut again. This is the second time this has happened. Any workaround that I should try or should I just replace it at the service centre. It seems its a inherent problem
