Also, seeing the amount; I have a good feeling that you've comprehensive insurance; which is very good.
I know there are different types of insurance. But I am not sure what type of insurance my bike have. How to check it? Also can I change to another insurer if I get a better deal?

Yes, you can opt for a different insurer offline as well as online. Your policy cover will contain details of insurance type. However, you can call the insurance firm and get to know the details by mentioning your policy number.

      • How about Avenger Cruise RVM in TB 350 (2014 model)

        Hi,

        Happy 2016 for all!

My TB 350 RVM got broken and I am in the hunt of searching a chrome finish mirror to replace the stock. I was searching for mirror with inbuilt indicator but not found one. Please let me know if anyone know this.

Also I am looking to replace this with Avenger Cruise RVM which have its stem little bent forward and I think it will give a good view while riding.

So please tell me whether Avenger Cruise RVM fits to TB 350.

        • Royal Enfield Thunderbird Help

          Hi,

I own a TBTS-350. I recently went for a ride where I faced an issue with the brakes. I want to ask you guys if anyone knows about this and if it is normal and what can be done to resolve this.

I was on my way from Kufri to Shimla. While descending, I had to apply the rear brake many times and after few kilometers, the rear disc break stopped working. This has happened with me many times. There was a pillion rider with me as well. I have not heard of this issue in any other bike but I don't know what problem is this.

Also please suggest the best engine oil for this bike.

          TIA

            Hello.
From my less experience I can tell you that rear disc breaks on our bird is not adequate. I have seen one of my friends rear wheel locked up due to heating of rear disc break. Did you check up the oil level of rear disc I think it may be low. As far as engine oil nothing beats Motul I guess.

You will find what it looking for on royalenfieldzone.com never ordered anything from them myself yet, but I've seen chrome mirrors with built in indicator.. Avenger mirrors fit well on the tb. I've seen many with those.

I have just installed bajaj boxer mirrors yesterday, since I was having trouble with vibrations. These Dont look particularly cool, but my problem has solved with them. Probably will have them spray painted for better looks.

              Cheers!

Thank you, globe2ride. Yes. I have seen on royalenfieldzone which comes first on Google search for Royal enfield accessories. But I am not much impressed to that mirror. So looking for a better one.

I also accept Avenger mirror fits to TB well but I am concerned about Avenger CRUISE RVM. I have checked with Bajaj showroom to know Avenger Cruise Mirror fits to Old model Avenger. But they have no idea. My calculation is if it fits to Old Model Avenger then it will fits to TB as well. If anyone confirms then I can go ahead and buy that.

Any contact in Mumbai where I can get a windshield? Yes, the windshield is back in the mix, a longish weekend ride coming up.

I did install a built in indicator RVM for my 1st gen TBTS. It looked quite nice, don't have any pics though. It was all good till they started vibrating and rattling after about a week. Tried everything but the build quality itself was poor. Any speed above 60kmph and the rvms were almost useless. It got to a point where despite the good looks (it also had pilot lamps near the indicator housing) I removed it. Fitted Avenger rvms. What a relief! In fact they were more vibe free compared to the stock and provided an excellent field of vision, in vertical orientation or horizontal. Only problem was they stuck out from the handlebars so had to be really careful in tight traffic.

I have no idea whether Avenger Cruise mirrors will fit.

at any down slopes, ghat sections always practise Engine Breaking.

anything involving frequent breaking results in, brake system heating and possible failure, fracture, inadequate performance of brakes. this can mar braking system in 2/3/4 wheelers alike. (the more loaded the vehicle, the more this will affect, you were with a pillion, that explains much)

Engine breaking too needs to be used with caution as incorrect usage of this too will result in accelerated wear and tear of clutch plates.

REs have a rather larger single pot engine, with a long stroke, and the Engine itself as a stressed member of chassis. Vibrations are unavoidable.

Any TBTS 350 owners here from HYD, BHEL TOWNSHIP? or around BHEL?

I own a TB 350(Lightning) & its approx 1.5yrs old. I have completed my free servicing period. What is the service interval of RE post free servicing period? Currently mine total KM is around 8.5K and I did my 5th servicing on 29th Nov '15. When should I go next?

                          Thanks,

Hey guys. My bike is 1.5yrs old only 4k on the odo. I noticed recently while downshifting to 2nd gear before a speed hump and then picking up in 2nd gear the bike makes knocking sound and struggles to move on. This makes me again downshift to 1st to gather momentum and move on. What could be the reason. One More query how can I check engine oil level I can't get a proper reading from oil guage because it either shows full on main stand and empty on side stand
