Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Piston glazing may be the reason. It can't be known until the engine is opened. Or it might be chain slack, chain & sprocket condition, tyre pressure.Originally posted by ponbaarathi View PostCan someone tellme what may be the reason for my bikes low mileage?? They infact changed the carburetor too!

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Grant road has authorized royal Enfield part shop .... If that helps !!! But getting not your everyday stuff is difficult and I feel he over charges. If you have seen places and let me know if he does charge nominally.Originally posted by globe2ride View PostSo far I've only found a source forbseats in Andheri west.. 1. New Seats - try gel seats. They are very comfy and you should get the gel padding in any motorcycle accessory shop.Originally posted by globe2ride View PostSo.. Minor modifications project taken up.. Will need the following next month:

2. RVM - IMO, cafe racer rvms look real good on TB. Try royal Enfield zone. Or for usability, avenger rvms are good too.
3. Windshield - do not fix huge windshield like one on avenger. It's hindrance in many ways. If you come up with something nice. Do update here.
4. Right side saree guard- this is a must. I am so annoyed we don't have something to fit directly. If you gonna make one. Try the design of himalayan, it's neat.
5. Head light grill - Google same thing and you will get many options. Indimotard has good one.
6. Fork cover - get it from royal Enfield zone
Do post a pic when the job is done.
Cheers!Be the change you want to see in other Riders!

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Gel seats may be out of my budget as of now.. The right saree guard, I saw someone post on fb, but lost track of that thread.. Same with the light grill.. I'll keep you posted on the progress and details..Originally posted by Sharrrrrrad View Post1. New Seats - try gel seats. When you say cafe racer rvm, dovyou mean the bar end mirrors? I found bar ends not very functionally correct on the stock handle bar...

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Hi tpsan,Originally posted by tpsan View PostI have had my Tb for 4 months now.I dont understand what you mean by heavy.I upgraded from a Scotty and I didnt find TB heavy atall. RE shave awesome pulling power and riding is quite effortless. It does feel heavy when putting on main stand or take it out of congested parking.
for cons if you compare with other bikes-TB500,Dukes,Pulsars-its pickup, brakes.i dont like to ride hard so mostly am easily overtaken by dukes, pulsars and even activas by college girls wearing scarf for helmets
You cant maneuver or zig zag it in traffic like a duke or smaller bikes.
I havent had a bad exp at ASC as yet and advisors have been patiently explaining to me my stupid queries also.
RE is a decision of the heart. For me 350TB give a nice calm ride to cruise and you dont feel stressed physically-esp the back.NO OTHER bike will give you that .If you want a fast bike to zip through traffic you will have to look elsewhere. I suggest you will make an informed decision if you go through the thread and 500TB.
Hope this helps somewhat.
Thank you for your detailed response. Off topic: Your statement about college girls is true...it's mostly them who are the rash drivers on the road.
Back to the topic:
What would be the mileage you get in the city and on highway? The official figures put it at 24kmpl. But I have heard its higher.
How are the shock absorbers? Do they absorb the undulations well?
I am also concerned about the illumination of the headlight. How well does it illuminate the road in front?
I live in blore and here traffic is just too bad...roads are worse with surprise potholes every now and then, and everyone drives with their headlights set to head.
Thanks is advance for answering my above queries!!

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Hi
Mileage for 350 is definitely higher close to 35+.
Headlights are adequate for illuminated roads. You can fit additional LEDs on leg guards/headlight frame if you need which are more than sufficient to counter fromt high beams.
I live in Pune and do get cranky with the traffic here. But whenever i return from visiting Bglore, Pune trafffic seems like a breeze.i am truly amazed at how you guys maintain sanity .Anyway TB is somewhat difficult to maneuver in traffic compared to say RE classic.
TB is great for long drive but for daily commute do TD a classic.Suspension are best for all REs. So for pothole roads RE are made for them.

Thanks for your reply. So what do you suggest? Can I maintain my sanity in the slow moving Blore traffic on a 200kg bike? [emoji12]
How about the frequency of maintenance in the TB350? Is it too frequent? I have a travelling job where I am away from home for months...will the bike give me trouble after I return...? I don't see myself being able to push a 200kg bike to the service centre. [emoji29]
I have read on other forums about the unreliable service centres. Can anyone in blore suggest a good service centre?
Can members also help me out with a PDI list while taking delivery of the bike?
