Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
The stock ceat tyre comes with TBTS (in my case) is perfect. Exchanged the first stock after 48k KMS.Originally posted by zoomdar View PostYep. Zapper is only good on tarmac/ roads.
Slightest bit of water/mud/slush/gravel and all balance goes for a toss [emoji14]
I have heard there are a couple of tires from Ceat and Michelin which can give better offroading balance - will check and let you know if I find the exact product names.

Congrats bro. I too waited for ThunderBird for 10 years. Its an awesome feeling. I purchase2d it after owning a 3rd hand Pulsar 150 which was also an awesome deal....
Taking care of your bird is the most important part.... find a good mechanic at your locality(wit feedback of other riders) and always visit one only. For emergency you can identify others too. Single handed servicing always is worth6.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Hey Guys,
I've changed the tires of my TBTS to Rear - 19" 3.5 CEAT GRIP / Front - 90/90 19" CEAT (IMPULSE TYRE )
The Bike handling has improved a lot , it grips really well i've rode more than 500kms now through dry /wet surface. I was not sure of the front tyre so kept the old ribbed on as a spare. Will post the pics later.Last edited by jayanth_b_p; 08-03-2015, 12:32 PM.There ain't no devil, ther'e just God when he's drunk.

Haha!
Zapper is not bad , just that there are better tyres if you plan to be off road or in rough terrain for longer periods.
In fact, zapper is pretty good on roads.

Reserve Fuel Capacity of RE ThunderBird - Calculated
Hi Friends,
I believe those who is having a Royal Enfield Thunderbird (New model - 20L Fuel tank) would have definitely come across this question in their mind. What is the Reserve Fuel capacity of my bike? It is not mentioned in the owners manual also.
I have been searching in the internet, various forums etc., but none of them were able to give a clear answer on this.
So I decided to know the fact on my own.
Here what I did-
I have put my bike in center stand and drained all the petrol from the tank into the bottle. Below is the picture.
This picture is taken after driving 35Kms since reserve. My bike currently giving 42-43 KMPL.
Adding up all the bottles 1900 ML+ 900 ML+ 800 ML= 3600 ML + 800 ML = 4400 ML
So I guess the reserve capacity of Royal Enfield ThunderBird is around 4.4 L approx.
If I went wrong somewhere in above, let me know.
Thanks

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Great job man! Had that though but learnt from some veterans that it will go for about 100 kms after its in reserve. So that's the guess.. Plus never keep it in reserve for long. Again no specific reason told.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
I have a few small queries from RE Tbird owners. Any help will be much appreciated.
1. Is thunderbird 350 reasonably reliable if well serviced on time? I can live with small oil leaks but do not want to get stranded in the middle of the highway.
2. Does Tbird 500 offer considerably more ease of use (cold start) and reliability because of fuel injection and an electronic starter?
3. How reliable is the induction starter motor of Tbird 350? I heard a few members saying it needs replacement more often as compared to other starter motors.
I have no experience or knowledge about RE bikes. TIA.FIAT-Yamaha enthusiast

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
1. With good care its reliable. People went to ladakh on it n back. Good care is when riding too. N following instructions during initial engine run ins.
2. No idea bout 500TB but TB 350 could be enough
3. Again cold start n all is dependent on how u use it. It's like warming ur muscles n ligaments before u work out in a gym followed by stretching.

but good quality alloy is not available here. Nana Peth is good for second rate [not second hand though] rims. one guy i met recently had bought a good lookign 18 spoke alloy from Nana Peth and it got cracked when he rode into a pot hole.
i talk to the service manager at Baner Kings Auto, and he recommended Royal Erado alloys. The service center also stocks that.
this is the model:
he quoted 10k for the pair for TB350Ride: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Marine >> KTM Duke 390 2017
Helmet: SOL SL-68S II

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Thunderrider, same design alloys were quoted for Rs9300 by a local RE dealer yesterday. He said that if original rims are exchanged during delivery then price will be brought down to 8k for these. The ones I saw were black in colour and looked amazing on a black thunderbird being delivered by them. Brand seemed to be different though.FIAT-Yamaha enthusiast

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Alloys need to be of good quality n we don't have a way of checking them. Other than looks alloys don't give advantage I feel.. Can we powder coat the spoke rim? It may look better. Had seen someone do it I think.
