Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
I don't intend to change anything on the bike, I love the stock configuration. I was referring to change the authorised service centre ASC.Originally posted by Enfielder View PostHi Parimal, what do you intend to change, are you talking about stock silencer? have you shorlisted any options

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
hi i had a similar situation like this a while back, i made them remove the tyre from rim and check the setting of the tube if its aligned, as sometimes this might preasure the tyre to rotate in irregular pattern and sometimes made me doubt the wheel alignment. try if this helps, and also check if the disk place is well aligned as well.Originally posted by TranquilRagePeople who had rear tyre punctures, please advise...
My bike had a rear tyre flat because of a huge nail. Got it fixed at a local tyre shop nearby. After a while, it became apparent that there was some noise & friction from the disk brake/tyre. Back at the tyre shop, they didn't know how to fix it.
Took it all the way to the RE ASC, where despite telling them to open & refit tyre, they only sandpapered the disc & brake pads. Noise & friction went away...for a day.
Next, took it to local garage, where he worked on the swingarm alignment. Again noise & friction went away for 24 hours only.
Now, though the noise hasn't increased, the friction is worse. On lower gears, when accelerator is closed, there is a feeling of braking without pressing the brake.
Going back to local garage now. One nail & puncture is causing so much grief, and I know this is going to happen many times in the future.
Any past experience/solution with this rear disc brake puncture problem welcome.
i hope it helps you at least a little.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Hello Guys,
The dealer from whom i booked my Thunderbird says that there is delay from the RE itself as there is new TB350 coming up with a small logo change in the bike?
I would appreciate if anyone shed some light on this. Is this true or the dealer is making excuse because he cannot deliver the bike on time?
I called the RE from the contact number of chennai i got from their official website. The telephone operator said there is some logo change in the bike. Then also wanted to know if anyone knows about this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks....

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
With rear tyre check if tyre is properly aligned to Rim check the tyre walls on both sides. Rest check the axle alignment from the marks on rear axle nut.for braking feeling check if chain is not too tight and try to rotate the tyre with bike on centre stand. if nothing sort out the problem remove rear bearing and check for play . some times fitting the axle back after puncture or other job can cause excess play in bearing. this was what happened to my Tb 500.Originally posted by TranquilRagePeople who had rear tyre punctures, please advise...

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Hi Guys,
I have a query. My TB 350 has run 14K kms till date and the Sprocket seems to have worn out. Is it normal for O-ring chains to wear out for 14K kms or has it worn out prematurely?
Also, please let me know where in Bangalore I can buy a Chain-Sprocket kit for the TB 350. TIA

Looks like the rear tyre is giving all of us sleepless nights.. Its been weeks since the same thing happened to me.. and Im still paranoid about the firction.. I got it checked from the ASC, they say there's no problem.. even a local mechanic says its alright. So I thought it must be just me being paranoid.. but as from these above posts, it seems to be a real problem indeed..Originally posted by TranquilRageThat's the only thing left to do, remove & refit. Have tried everything else..all have just solved the problem for 24 hours only.
I am planning to change the rear to tubeless!!! I find the Continental GT tyre to be a nice fit.. spoked wheels, and tubeless. Best of both worlds. Although it is an 18" tyre, it is wider(130mm). Has anyone given it a try? what mods would be necessary for this little hack?
Appreciate your replies..Gear for sale: fake A* bionic knee guards, 3" bar end mirrors. PM if interested.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Still contemplating as I have another 6000 kms to go before the warranty expires. Have heard good reviews of the mechanic at Babloo motors, they claim many owners go to him from the first service onwards itself without caring about the warranty.Originally posted by globe2ride View PostCongrats mate!! Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
I dont have the contact no. buttThe mech's name is Sandeep, if I remember correctly but there are only two guys there who do only RE bikes, one is Sandeep and other is Thambi. And Yea the Cushion seats, I paid Rs. 650 for, hope you can bargain better, definitely don't pay a penny more.Originally posted by globe2ride View PostCool.. please share his contact details.. and which mechanic to ask for..I might pay him a visit soon.. Also do let me know if you get the tyre changed with the Continental one and the cost for it, I think you may not need any mods and it should be a direct fit. Pirelli has a tyre in 120/80 but then the rims would be a problem.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
i have to do the same thing, i feel nothing while i ride but a friend of mine pointed me out about the unusual movement in tyre, i went to the the service center and they pointed me out to refit the tyre and it would be fine then, and i was like if u guys know the solution then why don't you do itOriginally posted by TranquilRageThat's the only thing left to do, remove & refit. Bro, if your dealer & then the company itself is telling you, why are you fretting? Be patient, the bike will come & then memories of waiting period will be a distant dream.
and i have a latest update, rather a bad news to share, my tank's paint has started to generate some bubble like formation , i made them see it, photographs have been taken and will get the response about tank replacement.
i left my vehicle for clutch problems i was having for some time ,they asked me to leave the vehicle, so i did. i visited to collect my vehicle but problem is still there and they just dont want to solve it is what i feel. i suppose if u engage a gear and put the bike on main stand then press the clutch , tyre shold stop rotating, right ? but its going to the same pace like its engaged in the gear. they say its normal and is with every bike. Its making me feel worried if its going to hurt the engine from inside and clutch plates would go bad.
they also changed the TCI unit as listed and asked, mech. said bike was giving missing problems while testing so he changed, i wasn't facing any missing issues, but some friends of mine told me about this in the past, but it never happened when i was riding. But im glad its solved.
so far i have got a few replacements under warranty
1.firstly repalaced both the rims TWICE, yes twice due to alignment issue.
2.have got a new console speedo due to cracks on the from plastic screen, and hazard was also not working.
3.TCI unit repalced due to missing problem, i used to face this but was rectified by setting up the TPS settings myself following the owners manual.
4. petrol tank is about to be changed for paint quality problems and bubble formation.
but i would say, its totally a bliss when riding.

Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences
Hi Parimal- Can you share some pics of the seats with extra cushion. Did you get this done also from Babloo motors. I think this place is in Vashi. Also had a query if the backrest can be changed somehow. Has any body done this yet.Originally posted by Parimal Maheshwari View PostI dont have the contact no. buttThe mech's name is Sandeep, if I remember correctly but there are only two guys there who do only RE bikes, one is Sandeep and other is Thambi.
