Booked Thunderbird 350 couple of weeks back in Thane. Colour - Lightning.
Wanted Twilight, but it is discontinued.
Dealer has told me that waiting period is 3 to 5 months.
I have asked for delivery in October '14. Hope to get it by then :-)

Looking forward to get the delivery. Hope it is as per promised timeline
I am trying to avoid delivery during monsoon anyways

A week back, one of my friend got delivery from Soniya - Bhandup in a month. He used to call them almost everyday!

          Hi Friends,

Bike completed a month and also first Free service was done in 10 days of taking the delivery of bike..... Was not much satisfied with the free service they did not cleaned the bike properly... Any ways small niggles were removed and its performing far better now.. Have completed 1000 kms in a month...

Bike is consistently giving average of around 45 in heavy traffic ( I am quite shocked by this).... have measured it by reserve to reserve method.....I dont drive it like a maniac love to enjoy the ride and keep the RPM in check and have not taken it above 70 in highway.....

There are few issues which the service center guys says will remain.... First is the weird sound which comes up when i use the front disc brake they said it will always come.....Second is the tapping sound from the engine they said it will be there till around 3000 kms....

Can anyone confirm for the above two things???

Also want to go on a ride of 250 kms from ahmedabad to udaipur.........So wanted to know is it advisable as bike just completed 1000 kms and what speed should i drive it on highway??

          ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Please follow manual mentioned speeds in running in period.

Don't worry about front disc noise & tappet. Will go away.

Please enjoy your 250km ride, no worries!
Yeah RE ASC is very very pathetic anyways......

Good to know the sound will go away fingers crossed.... Thanks for the views.....

I have felt that best speed to cruise along on our highways on thunderbird 350 is 80kmph.

Bike responds well and cruise along nicely with not much vibrations.

My run in of 2500kms just got over and will try taking it to 90kmph now. Although I have been happy cruising at 80kmph.
Going for second service soon. And then the BIG ride a week after that

Once you start taking the bike to 90kmph, you would want cruise at that. Tops at around 110, sometimes you feel that its too low given the bike's stability. But its fun cruising at 90-100kmph, after a while though the vibrations makes it little less enjoyable, over a sustained period of say around 40-50 kms, you can feel the vibes across your body all through the break [emoji4][emoji12]

Has anyone tried drag style handlebars on the thunderbird?
And can we mod the rear seat like that of a harley, say street 500 type, removing it completely? Any ideas?

Removing the seat completely looks quite bad.. I myself am looking for the rear seat modification.. Will let you know if I'm successful.. You may do the same I you get there first..

If you remove thr rear seat completely, you'll need something like a cowl to cover the rear seat assembly system, otherwise it's just gonna look bad... And the tail light right behind the seat poses a problem for aesthetics as well..

Is the Monster Glasswool exhaust a good option for a '13 TB350?! 'Coz I'm not fond of the goldstar as much as i simply dig the monster. Does it have any drawbacks? And who is a good manufacturer of the exhaust? Shakil or Sans Inc.

Frankly speaking whats up with RE? Why did they change the key design and the RE logo layout on the fuel tank? Old one was better IMHO

I've heard switching to any exhaust other than the stock in the '12+ model causes some kind of problems.. I've known 5 guys in Tue svc who faced problems after changing stock exhaust.. Hence I am refraining from doing the same.. But you might give it a try.. Goldstar is the best suited exhaust for tb according to many... But it's ur bike and ur taste.. If you like loud pipes.. Go for the monster.

                              Hope this helps..

                              Cheers?

                                Hi all members,
Firstly I would like to thank you all for delivering me good knowledge upon maintenance and performance of my bike.
I have been a slient reader always from the day when I booked my RE TB350 on 5th May 2014. I got my Twillight on 28th May but I was not able to post coz my account was not validated with xbhp.
The experience to own this bull is out of the world. I am seeking chances to drag it out whenever its possible coz RTO registration has not been done yet.
I have maintained my speeds between 45-55kmph but maintaining proper gears as per manual is bit challenging. Bull asks for more and more speed but I need to contol myself.
Would require your valuable suggestions if I could install a petrol lock coz there had been an instance of petrol theft.
